I've been learning the all-grain system for at least a year now with my good friend and I'm finally ready to make the plunge. I am doing a left hand milk stout clone and would love some good pointers or suggestions on what you learned through your first solo run or any advice around a milk stout. Thanks!

Since you've been helping a friend do All Grain for a year, I'd say the most important thing for you would be to write down every measurement/result, from brew day all the way through tasting the final beer. And keep doing that on subsequent batches. You'll probably need to dial-in your system (equipment) and process, unless they are identical to your friend's.

My system is extremely close to his and I have learned how to take pretty good notes by now. Thanks!
