My first all grain Ipa. Need help

    i forgot to take my og reading before pitching the yeast, but I took a reading at pre boil. can I still get my og? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Do you know pre and post boil volumes?

    Pre boil was 6 gallon and post boil was 5 1/2 gallons. Also when I took the reading after mashout, it read 1.044.

    [(1.044 - 1) × (6 / 5.5)] + 1 = 1.048
