I've had a Sam Adams cherry wheat in my fridge for some time now as I didn't really enjoy it. Thinking of ways to get rid of it i thought I'd make a half and half with the SA and smuttynose robust porter. To any that think this is a waste of the smuttynose porter I apologize.

I poured SA cherry slowly producing no head then poured smutty porter slowly over a spoon as this is what I was instructed to do by e how. The smuttynose immediately took over the SA cherry within seconds and I was left with what looked like smuttynose porter.

I evidently failed with the pour or the selection idk. I know an ideal half and half is stout and pale ale but I figured I was close enough. Maybe the smuttynose robust porter is too heavy of a porter? If anyone has any insight into what i did wrong lay it in me. Outside of appearance the beer wasn't a bad hybrid. I got the cherry and the roasted chocolate coffee in the nose and it fit. The taste is less Cherry but enough of it to put a nice little twist on the porter. But damn it looked like a regular ol smuttynose porter.
