My first Lunch!

I thought Lunch was good, not great, but like all other MBC beers, I feel like there are better beers for the money than paying $7.99 for a 16.9 oz. bottle of there beer.

 

For all those in here who aren't into MBC stuff, or thinks it's not so hot... was is fresh? I've found that their stuff is so crisp and clean and juicy when fresh, but falls fast. Lunch, Dinner, and others...

 

I have Lunch and Another One waiting in my fridge at home...think I'll be enjoying Another One tonight and Lunch over the weekend. First MBC experience was Zoe a few weeks back, looking forward to trying some more!

 

Congrats! Lunch is a good IPA. Not the best, especially compared to other New England beers, but still enjoyable when I get it. I wasn't crazy about Another One. Thought it wasn't as good as Lunch. Beer II was great! Probably slightly better than Lunch for me.

Now Dinner. Man! I need more of that beer! My favorite beer I have had yet. Getting 12 at the last release was not enough! Have one left that I'll enjoy this weekend. Desperately want to get back for the next release.

 

I like it a great deal, but here in NY (where you can get it within a week of bottling) the prices has risen, in just two years, from 6.99 to 9.99.

I agree Lunch is very good. Im partial to Mo myself, but Another is also very very good. their beers are pricey but if found fresh and consumed once and a while it is a great beer and brewery.

 

I had Lunch recently at a german place out here, it was ok. Well done, solid balanced IPA, but a prime example of the hype train making me expect more out of it than it is. Another one is probably my favorite IPA i've had of maine's (no dinner yet)

 

I like Lunch and Another One but they aren't something I buy very often due to the price.

Never even heard of this one..guess i am too far west. My daughter is heading to Hoboken for school so maybe when i visit i can find this..ok just checked their beers out..looks like i have some catching up to do

 

Dinner aside (because nobody can get it) MO is the best beer MBC makes by style category. As for Lunch vs Another One, it depends on my mood. Sometimes I like one more than the other, but mostly they are different. For fans of Another One, Weez is the same exact hop profile in a dark IPA. Anyone who thinks Lunch is just "average" didn't have it fresh or is probably reacting to the cost. But it's not likely to be a revelation to anyone who has had other very good IPAs.

 

I'm heading to Maine this week. What will be available around Acadia that is a must try? IPA type of guy.

 

The last bottle of Lunch I had (most recent batch) tasted absolutely nothing like it usually does. Aromas weren't there, hop flavor was muted. It could have been a bad bottle, or if others had the same experience, a bad batch.

 

With the steadfast evolution of ipas that is occuring right now unfortunately lunch is so last year. It's still fucking delicious (had it at mbc last weekend ) but it's sadly just not the mindblower it was a year ago. I also second Another One for the win.

Man, I have lunch basically every day. Can't believe it was your first one. Today I'm gonna have a ham sandwich.

 

I just wish they would change their format. Not a fan of 500ml bottle.

While constantly seeking Lunch (this went on for MONTHS) I decided to pick up Zoe and was absolutely smitten. When Lunch finally magically appeared I had probably built it up too much in my head, but I was a little underwhelmed. It was fine, mind you, just wasn't' the epic trip down hop nirvana that I thought it would be. That being said, whether you thoroughly enjoy a generally highly acclaimed beer or not, simply having a chance to try it opens you up for joining the discussion, which is part of the enjoyment of trying new things.
