Ok... I would love some help here... I have a mini fridge style kegerator which is only 5 months old and I have tried everything I know and still getting a ton of foam! What happens is when I first pull the handle it spits and then shoots out really fast and pretty much straight foam then it settles down and as I am filling my glass it slowly gets better....when my glass is full I end up with 50% foam (sometimes worse, sometimes a little better).....it will do this every time!...now if I am sitting drinking with a few of my buddies and we are keeping it flowing pretty often it will get better as the night goes on and actually clears up pretty good (but if u let it sit, back to square one). Another thing I have noticed is that when the keg is about to float (let's say about 10 beers left) it will flow perfectly...smooth and almost no foam(that's how I know it's about gone) I am on my third keg and have tried everything that I know....tried every pressure from 3psi to 12psi and adjusted my temp anywhere from 33-40...took it apart numerous times and found no problems...I even got a different co2 tank....nothing seems to change it!...please help!!!!...beer should be a stress reliever not stressful!!!
You should go through this forum and read the similar threads about foam. The key to controlling it is in understanding how to balance your system using the temperature and volumes of CO2 of the beer along with a carbonation chart. From there you can adjust beer flow by lengthening the beer line to slow the dispense speed, and then add a tower cooler to correct first beer foam. Your answers are already here in the forum I suspect.
If you lower the pressure to 3 pounds or any pressure lower that what the beer is carbed at the beer will release the co2 and you'll see bubbles in the line. What size is the id of the beer line? I had a friend that had foaming because his beer line was 5/16 on a short run and there wasn't enough resistance to slow the beer down.
