    My slurp.co.uk haul

They kinda ripped me off on the Mort Subite, they described it as 37.5cl on the site, turns out it's actually 25cl. Gaah!!! Still, pretty decent service otherwise.

    Any opinions?

Not bad, did you only get the 5 varieties? Be interested what you think of the Bohemia Regent (Dark?) and never had Timmermans Framboise.

Take it you used the livingsocial deal?

Hopefully getting my order soon (had to nudge them to dispatch it though, they were a bit slow) and hoping the delivery driver leaves it where I asked (as I'll prob be at work).

    I got the following coming:

312 Urban Wheat, Maredsous Blonde (3 of), Brigand, Gordon's Scotch Ale, Scaldis Bush (3 of), Bohemia Regent Dark, Durham Temptation Stout (2 of), Dupont Bon Voeux, Boon Geuze, St Bernardus Abt (3 of), Cotswold Wheat, Fyne Ales Avalanche (2 of), Sharp's Special (2 of), Orkney Dark Island (2 of), Coniston XB and 2 cans of Maui Coconut Porter.

I like a bit of variety me :-)

Yeah, livingsocial deal. Only did the £20/£40 one as I really couldn't see £85 worth of stuff I would have ordered with the £40/£85 deal.

They did have Schneider Aventiuns and the Cotswold Wheat when I ordered the voucher, but thos had gone when I actually placed the order. SO not impressed with that!

I'll let you know about the Bohemia Regent, should have one of those tonight. As for the Timmermans, It's good stuff, although a bit light in % terms. In all honesty, I prefer Bacchus fruit beers out of the three "majors" (timmermans, bacchus, liefmanns).

I like variety as well, although I always get 2 (min) of anything, as I hate kicking myself when I find something really good then realise I have no more!

That exact thing happened to me last year but it was ALL of the beer I had ordered had gone out of stock before they could update the website, so it ended up being paid for in september and delivered in december. Would have got a refund had they not been rare (at the time) Stone beers.

It's a good idea getting a few 312s as well, as it means you can open a few and fill up a proper German wheat beer glass. No fiddling around with pansy chalices or goblets :stuck_out_tongue:

I'm not hugely impressed with the 312s; they're a bit "light" for my taste, and reminiscent of a cross between leffe and blue moon. I'm a 5%+ man, it would seem!

Fuseboy-I've got a Bohemia Regent Dark in front of me right now. Thoughts as follows:
It's almost a "dunkel" in style, lots of bitter chocolate and dark treacle flavours. A hint of coffee at the end, in fact, the overpowering aftertaste is coffee in full. Almost like having drank an espresso. Very lightly carbonated to the point of no carbonation at all. Not really my thing, but still wonderfully complex. Enjoy it and let me know what you think!

They're nothing like Blue Moon, for a start they don't taste like coriander infused urine.

Hmm, lots of hate for Blue Moon on here. Just used the comparison as couldn't think of anything more similar...

    Hey grex9101,

Thanks for your description of the Regent Dark, sounds pretty interesting to me - not sure i'll be able to pick out as much as you did though - not very good at reviewing beers, but i'll let you know what i think.

Not sure i've ever had Timmermans, pretty sure i've tried the other 2. Maybe i'll pick up a Timmermans from the supermarket and see what i think.

Totally agree about ordering at least 2 of each - i usually go for variety and then you do kick yourself when you find a beer you like and only have 1 to try! Suppose can always order again.

Got my delivery finally! Though they've omitted my 750ml Dupont Bon Voeux and replaced it with a 312 Urban Wheat at just 355ml :-( . Suppose i can do what EssexAleMan suggested and fill my Weissen glass properly at least!

And they had Schneider Aventinus when i applied for my voucher, but was all gone when i received my voucher! :-(

Very hit and miss offer. Pretty happy with my purchases but not sure i'll rush to do it again.

Email them and complain about the Bon Voex, deserves a refund of the bottle price at least!

I have emailed them, not heard anything back yet - they responded almost straight away when i was chasing up my order, though think i emailed a bit later today.

Doesn't really feel right complaining though when i've got £85ish worth of beer for just over £40. We'll see what happens - hopefully at least get refunded the difference between the cost of the 2 bottles (almost 5 quid)
