this is the first year they're doing it in a venue setting which requires a ticket. last year it was in a park and you could just purchase drink tickets. it was pretty fun and the line up was alright. IMO the VIP isn't worth it. but the regular should be a good time

That's a pretty small venue for a beer festival.

2500+. 3 sessions. I don't think that will be bad. Unless they're not utilizing both floors.

The past couple years it has been sort of not awesome, mostly due to over-crowding and what seemed like a lack of solid organization (the pouring stations were crammed together and it was a pain to find out what you were getting in line for at times). Similarly to this one, they've had one or two solid, semi-rare (to these parts) beers but always seem to emphasize whatever is sitting on the shelves, everywhere around town.

I'll be there! We usually set up a table and brew some homebrew, but obviously won't be doing that at the new venue this year. There may not be a ton of rarities, but it gets better every year and is always fun. We will be getting more details as the date gets closer. I'm looking forward to the new format. And it's a lot closer to home!

Pretty nice little beer list, but not much representation from the FL breweries. I see no CCB, 7venth sun, Swamphead, etc., which is a bit disappointing. Still might have to check this out

SC doesn't get distro of these breweries. We will get CCB eventually - they are at Brewvival every year and had plans to start sending beers to SC a couple of years ago. Then they had to pull out of some states to meet local demands.

I expect a little more elbow room at a beer fest vs. a show. If I'm elbow to elbow at a show, no big deal. At a fest is a hugely different deal.

With the exception of maybe 2 or 3 brewers that a brought a special keg, the fest was a joke last year. The price per sampl using tickets made it feel like a huge cash grab.

Looking at the list and cost, it still looks like a cash grab. Very few of those beers retail for $2 per 12oz....most closer to a $1/bottle. At $40/$45 a ticket, they are making a ton per person. It looks like an easy way for distributors to empty the warehouse with the exception of maybe Foothills bringing nice stuff.

Thanks for the input folks. I agree, $40 to sample what you can get at the Piggly Wiggly for a buck and a half a bottle is a little pricey
