    Greetings from the north atlantic.

Ill be traveling to myrtle for a long weekend in september and im looking for craft beer destinations. I searched for threads on myrtle but didnt see anything.. uh oh

The only breweries i see are new south and liberty. Are either of these worth going to with a group of people?

Are there any good craft bars that would carry westbrook or even wicked weed? Pardon my ignorance if WW isnt distro in the area.

Would also appreciate one bottle shop to pick up good local beer, such as a 6er kf westbrook gose or local ipas.

    Thanks all.

Just my personal opinion but you can completely skip over Liberty. There are 2 of a similar name so I guess they are the same business. Liberty Brewery & Grill located at Boardwalk at the Beach and then Liberty Tap Room on North Kings Hwy. When I was down a couple years ago we went to the one at Boardwalk at the Beach. It's essentially a chain restaurant that brews beer. The restaurant is the same as TBonz in other parts of the state I think. I ordered a few beers but the one I remember was a blueberry blonde ale. Their idea of this was a standard blonde ale with blueberries dropped in the glass upon serving. Anyway, The location is nice since there's a lot of stuff to do at Boardwalk at the Beach and honestly the beer was not bad but also not what I expected. It was just your standard (maybe a little below for some) beer.

Piggly Wiggly Market Commons is going to be the best bottle shop. I'm in VA and have only been to MB a few times so locals may have another opinion. Green's is also decent.

    Atlas Tap House is great

New South is a very small place but I really enjoyed their (free) tour. You are basically standing in a room where they do their brewing / filling / canning / etc so you are not actually touring anything really but the guy who did ours provided so much information that I really thought it was a great spend of a couple hours on a Tuesday. Plus free tastings during was pretty good and enjoying a pint in their small tasting room after.

A new restaurant that recently opened is called Brass Tap. It is located near Piggly Wiggly. I think that opened last Fall so I cannot speak on how it is.

    Piggly wiggly in market common.
Brass tap in market common.(good bottle list kinda boring draft list)
Mellow mushroom(awesome pizza with good beer tho less taps better drafts than brass tap if you ask me)
New Souths beer is pretty meh. But never been there so could be worth checking out.
No wicked weed distro in SC:slight_frown:
Best bet is getting some westbrook gose and spending time at the beach.

Also I would get your Westbrook stuff from grocery stores like lowes foods for freshness. Westbrook at the MC piggly wiggly tends to sit around because of all the other choices.

On your way down to MB. Stop by Seminar Brewing in Florence. Citrocity is a very nice beer.

Also New South has a few very limited brews on tap and sometimes cans. Just the other week they had Java the Hut. Their brown ale aged on coffee. 4.5% and drinks very easy, especially on the beach.

Atlas Tap House on Chester St, has the most aggressive craft tap and bottle list. The food is good too. Pine Lakes Tavern at 5201 N Kings Hwy has a decent craft tap list, good music and food too. Try the fish burrito. I concur on the Piggly Wiggly at Market Commons! They have a great selection of craft. New South's tasting room is not open Saturday or Sunday, but they are cool people and the beer is good. The Brass Tap has a ho-hum tap list, true! Mellow Mushroom has a great bar and an excellent rotating tap list. Definitely worth a visit.

You must be the first person I have see who recommended plt. That's my local watering hole. Love it. I second/third/fourth pretty much everything mentioned above. I think new south is worth checking out just for their brewery only releases. Much more exciting than their regular distribution offerings.
