I have a slightly different request than most of the others posting in the forum with respect to Myrtle Beach (I'm familiar with the decent places to go for bar/eatery and shops). I'm looking for a nicer place to have a celebration dinner for a group from work + families (well, my wife's work) that can host approximately 20 people and has a halfway decent beer list. The group includes co-workers, spouses, and children. A half decent wine list would be great as well. Anyone have any ideas? There will be
I second fire and smoke. If you're willing to have it further south, I'd check out Perrone's. A bit more upscale, but really really good beer, wine, and cocktail menu. http://www.perronesmarket.com You might also find Collector's Cafe interesting. Great food and a beer selection that you've described. http://collectorscafeandgallery.com Don't count out Liberty Tap Room, although a chain of sorts, it has a solid beer selection and the food isn't bad. I mention it more for the beer than the food.
I've been to Fire and Smoke (and really enjoyed it) but was thinking a table for 20 with children might be a bit large for as small as the place is. I will give my wife the Collector's Cafe and Perrone's.
I work in Pawleys Island at a Private Golf Club and my members rave about Perrone's...they absolutely love it. i have not heard a single bad thing.
The best "one stop shop" area for craft beer bars in Myrtle is Fire and Smoke, Hurricane Maggies (dive bar with an always awesome tap list) and Liberty, which is a typical sports bar, live music, decent menu joint with 40 taps (at least 1/3 are bmc). All three of these places are on the same block in Myrtle. I wouldn't suggest Hurricane Maggies as a nice place to eat. While the food is good, it doent sound like barfood is what you are looking for.
If money is no object it's hard to go wrong at New York Prime on 28th Avenue....ask for Chris to be your server and you will have a great evening
I would also consider Mr Fish in Myrtle, Flying Fish in Barefoot Landing and Sea Blue in North Myrtle. All are excellent and fit what you're looking for.
I wouldn't go near Liberty, the last few times there I should have sent back the steak both times. Awful food, I've had two steak dinners and one prime rib both were nothing fat and gristle, and the beer mediocre. Doesn't help you much other than to steer you clear of here.
This is Myrtle beach. Everywhere is. For around here the draft list looks "decent" like op was asking for....... But if it's not full of craft it's nothing huh? http://www.taplister.com/bars/the-g...e=badge&utm_medium=web&utm_campaign=bar_badge If op really wants the best craft list then The Brass Tap is the best by far.... But it's a small place.
Don't confuse liberty tap room with liberty at Broadway. I'll agree with you about liberty at Broadway. Liberty tap room isn't that bad. I ate there last night and I can tell you their craft list is much more than BMC.
Liberty at Broadway, the Liberty in High Point is so much better you'd never guess they were related. The place should and probably is a gold mine, the location is perfect. The bar food is ok though, but most everything else not so much.
Yeah, I would probably skip the Liberty at Broadway as I'm in GSO and the one in High Point is much closer.
