good afternoon all. Heading to myrtle beach Tomm for the week and looking for some recommendations for bottle shops and bars. From what I have seen so far the pig looks like the best place, I was wondering if there were any other good spots to check out within 20 or so miles of myrtle. Any advice would be appreciated. Piggly Wiggly at Market Commons is the best bottle shop in the area. if you are on fb their name under there is "Byrd's Beer at the Pig" They stay pretty active with showing their new releases each week. There are the go-to spot for any of the sought after bottle/can releases as well as growler fills Atlas Taphouse is also has great taps if you are looking for a craft beer bar as well as "Crafty Rooster" right at 15-20 minutes away in Conway, SC
The pig was outstanding.. stocked up on grapefruit sculpin and some westbrook brews. Also the beer den at lowes was excellent as I was able to get a growler of sexual chocolate. Atlas taphouse was outstanding but I was disappointed when they didn't have BCBS (website said they had it in bottles). All in all a great trip and was able to get quite a few brews I cant get here in Tenn.
Island Beverage in Carolina Beach is worth every mile of the extra drive from Myrtle. Dude has a GREAT selection there to be as small as it is. The owner is a cool dude who knows his stuff. I went in with my wife and got a few pints form his 10 or so taps. He makes sure the glass is basically spilling out the top. Not a big deal, but getting a whole pint when I pay for a pint is a big pet peeve of mine. Anyway, check it out! Hope you enjoy!
