I received a box today that I was not expecting. It seems that it was shipped USPS and an old label was scanned instead of the new one, as the box had a label that Amazon had previously used to ship something to me. USPS tracking is not very helpful, as both tracking numbers on the package are active. One indicates it's from CT and one says MA. Strangely, the label that has my address on it was from Amazon's distribution center in KY. So this box has been all over the place. There are addresses on it, but I don't know if they are the intended destination addresses or just old ones that no one covered up. Additionally, even with some digging, I have not been able to connect the names and addresses with anyone in the beer community.

So, even though this is a long shot, I'm coming here. If you recently shipped a box that was inexplicably re-routed to Florida, contact me and tell me what was in the box. If it's yours, send me a label and I'll re-pack it and send it on its rightful way.

As a side note, I'm amazed that a used USPS tracking number managed to cause this problem. I guess they retain their shipping destinations in the USPS system and don't expire? I might just start saving barcodes from USPS labels that I've used with regular traders and start shipping back and forth for free!

Very good of you OP. @F2brewers is there any way we can get more eyes on this thread?

This is the appropriate place for it.

I edited the title to try and draw more views and though we normally discourage it, I think bumping this thread to keep it on the first page is a good idea for the next week or two. Unless it was international, it shouldn't take more time than that to get where it was supposd to go.

Assuming it's a BA related trade box, someone should come here looking for it in that time frame.

My faith in common sense always told me don't worry about old labels on the box as they could not possibly work, but may have to rethink that thought after reading this.

I don't think old labels work with FedEx and UPS, but they will with USPS. USPS specifically instruct you to cover or removed old labels/codes; whereas, FedEx and UPS don't. That said, I always make sure all old labels and bar codes are removed or covered up regardless of courier.

Just a quick clarification on this point bolded above, as I just had a recent example prove that old UPS and Fedex tracking #s most definitely still work as well. Buddy from Minnesota sends me a box that arrives at main receiving here for state of Maryland. Tracking then goes silent and nothing until 3 or 4 days later the box mysteriously lands back on porch of my buddy. He said what happened is that his label to me got ripped off, then underneath that was an old label of a box with an old tracking # that was sent to him, so Fedex unknowingly scanned the old label and old tracking #. The tracking # worked fine and box was sent back to him in Minnesota. Lucky in this case that the old label was there, otherwise might have been a lot tougher to track down the box. Just an FYI for everyone.

No problem man. As we all do, I figure its good to share all of experiences with regards to trading as we can all learn from each other.
