So I bought a case of Founders Breakfast Stout sometime last Christmas and I discovered 4 more bottles in my laundry room this past week. It doesn't get very warm in the summer in my house but it def. gets realistically close to 70 degrees I am sure some days.

Are these still good to drink?

Also I was in my neighborhood grocery store browsing their beer selection and came across some Oak Aged Yeti. When I examined the bottle it was caked in dust and ready april 2013. Are bottles this old ok to buy or should I wait it out til newer stuff comes out?

    Thanks

Well old beer can't be dangerous to drink, as nothing harmful can grow in the alcohol level of beer. It just might taste crappy or stale. But chances are the Breakfast Stout is fine, just that the coffee flavor won't be what it was fresh. I find that beer to be a bit bitter and too strong of coffee flavor to begin with anyway.

Coffee notes will have faded some, but should still be a fine beer.
I would buy a couple now (cellar one, drink one) then buy a couple fresh and have a side-by-side comparison. Most of the Yeti beers age quite well.

i buy oak aged yeti every time i see it. this is one killer beer aged. i have had them at three years and its fucking good. getting to four years on a couple. will pop one open soon as it hits the four year mark. leaving one to age five years too.

Any version of Yeti can go a good half decade easily. A year old bottle is just starting to get good. Buy them all, set aside most of them for the next few years.

That sounds like a dream I had. Randomly finding FBS in my laundry room. If I were you I would check the rest of your house for hidden beers. Maybe you'll find some FIS in your powder room.
