Personally, if I'm travelling anywhere and there's any sort of nanobrewery I can go visit, I'm there. I have some great memories of drinking a nice pint of ale in places that resemble more of a storage locker or living room than an actual brewery.

So shout out your favorites and maybe why you enjoyed them so much, for those small-time brewers that don't usually get any recognition. A few of mine...

Fullsteam Brewery (Durham, North Carolina): Overall, the coolest bar I've ever visited. Great community feel, the staff is extremely friendly, and the beer is excellent. Once I sat down and the bartender realized I was out of town, he started drawing a map on the bar with a dry-erase marker to show me other cool bars and bottle shops in town. Very awesome. Favorite beer: Working Man's Lunch.

North High Brewing (Columbus, Ohio): Now, I've never been to England, but this is what I imagine a British pub would kind of be like. Always about 15 of their house beers on tap and the list is always rotating. Favorite beer: Queen Maudine Milk Stout.

The Actual Brewing Company (Columbus, Ohio): This place feels like my basement. It's a small room with about four taps (featuring the only sour in town that I know of), a couple couches, and a Nintendo 64 hooked up to play while you drink. Fantastic. Favorite beer: Curiosus Berliner Weisse

    How about you, BA?

Black Husky (Pembine, WI) awesome IPAs/DIPA's but more over great guys. These guys deliver their beers themselves to Madison and MKE check that on a map once, much respect @blackhusky

Hope to get some of your beers on tap and bottle in my neck of the woods (I live north of MKE) I know Silver Creek Brewing (that's another one) would love to have your beer on tap at their brew pub in Cedarburg, WI. We've shared many of your bottles there its how I found out about you guys actually. One of the bartenders went to the UP and brought some of your beers back to share when you guys still did 6 packs.

We actually have a waiting list going for new accounts. We are 100% wholesale distribution which is generally speaking a stupid, unworkable business model for a nano but its working for us. Still brewing on a home made system knocking out 2.5-4 bbls per batch depending on the gravity. We have several that have starting gravities right around the 25P range.

Burial Brewing in Ashville NC does some decent beers and he is a Macro as well.
Barking Duck Brewing will be opening here in Mint Hill NC in the next few weeks, another Macro/Micro with some good brews.

These are not available in bottles or cans at this time from what I am aware of.

I'm hoping someone will suggest some in the LA/Anaheim/San Deigo area...

I am hopping on a plane tomorrow for a 5 day indian wedding and will have plenty of free time to sample the local wares

I have a feeling San Diego has more than its fair share of Nanos

Not sure if it's really considered a nanobrewery or not, but I only live about 10 minutes away from Newburgh Brewing and they have some decent beer. Their Hopdrop IPA wasn't bad, and I really liked their winter spruce porter.

Nano-Brew in Ohio City / Cleveland - small pilot system for larger Market Garden brewery down the street (W. 25th) - nice bar, nice taps and cool people overall

Also looking forward to a new nanobrewery opening later this month here in my hometown of Akron....called Aqueduct Brewing - housed in the old Burkhardt Brewery where the much larger Thirsty Dog is located also!

Powell St. Brewing Vancouver Canada. Pretty much brew in cycles continually with two beers and bottles in the store front. All their beer is great but their Hopdemonium is something to be experienced.

Never knew about the 'Nano" thing. There should be a seperate catagory, or at least a way to filter, for them.

Not sure if they are truly a Nano, but Council Brewing makes some tasty beer. When I was there a couple of weeks ago, the brewer said she had only been open for a couple of months. They did have a small space that I think they will outgrow pretty easily.

Exile is indeed solid, but they are not a nano-brewery. They keg and bottle their beer for local/regional distribution.

Now 515 Brewing in Des Moines, is indeed a nano and probably some of the best beer being made in Iowa right now if you ask me!!

Thai Me Up in Jackson Wyoming is a nano that has fantastic beer. Their IPA'S and DIPA's are crazy good. Gotta go there or to one of the beer fests they go to to get their beer. We have had great Thai meals there as well. If you ever visit Jackson make sure to stop in there....

Bentley Brewing in Southbridge MA is always a stop for me. Great guys who run the place, and they are just getting their beers out to other restaurants around the area. Connected to the Dark Horse Tavern, so its always nice to pop in, talk to the brewers, grab a bite to eat, and shoot some pool.
