My girlfriend will be in Naperville for work this coming Monday 8/19 (just for the day) and she's agreed to grab some beer to bring back to Minnesota. I'm wonadering where the best single spot to send her would be (looking for pipeworks, half acre, revolution, prairie and perennial offerings) and suggestions as to what's new/worth seeking at the moment? Also wondering if there's any place in Naperville to grab a 12 btl foam shipper she could pack and carry on? Possibly a liquor store?

I know ... a lot of questions...little time....but hopefully some of you awesome local ba's can help us out? Cheers!

Best bet would be Binny's Naperville on Ogden Avenue. Malloy's Wine and Spirits also has a pretty good selection and there are 2 locations (a bigger one in nearby Lisle), but Binny's would have everything you'd want. Just an FYI, Half Acre doesnt distribute out here, youll have to head northeast for that. Whole Foods on rt 59 and 75th street also usually has a good selection (no Pipeworks though.

She should probably stop at Solemn Oath Brewery and grab a growler or two. Great beers there!

Yeah Binnys Naperville or Bolingbrook would be her best bet. Problem is, with the recent $2 off pipeworks coupon, those bad boys might be tough to find on monday...

Also agree with whole foods, pick up a fine artesian loaf from our bakery while shes at it!

Not a big fan of the Naperville Malloys, due to poor past services and hit or miss selection. I really like the Lisle one though.

Ive digressed... theres really no reason to go anywhere else but Binnys when it comes down to it.

SO is great, but the taproom is closed on Mondays.

Will Binnys sell foam shippers? Also wondering about any special releases or worthwhile selections to have her look for? I really appreciate the input - thanks.

No foam shippers @ binnys (as far as I know), but they'll give u free boxes if u ask. Special release wise, Stone enjoy by just came out and double DBA should be out/coming out.

They had a ton of Enjoy By this afternoon, and I saw one Double DBA. Also just found a case of Ninja vs Unicorn, so maybe you will get lucky and they still have one left tomorrow?

Does anybody know where to find a foam shipper in naperville or have any ideas as to how to package around 12 bottles for check baggage?

If you have the room in your suitcases, I would go buy the largest zip lock bags you can find. Bubble wrap each bottle and put a couple in each bag and seal. Then pad the bottles with clothes in your suitcase. I do this almost every time I travel (when I don't bring my 12 bottle wine shipper suitcase). Just don't be cheap with the bubble wrap.

There's a shipping store, The Boxes, in the same shopping center as the Naperville Binny's.

I have never found Styrofoam shippers anywhere around Chicago. Might be able to find the pulp cardboard lay-down shipper at a shipping store though?

This would be my recommendation. I always just wrap bottles in bubble wrap and clothes and I have never had any problems.
