PROVIDENCE, R.I. (May 12, 2014) –Narragansett Beer announces the much-anticipated release of its limited-edition Narragansett Del’s Shandy, the second collaboration in Narragansett’s “Hi Neighbor Mash Up” series, pairing the iconic New England brewer and a beloved Rhode Island summertime staple. The thirst-quenching shandy mixes ‘Gansett’s award-winning Lager and Del’s tart lemon concentrate, creating a refreshing brew for the warm summer months.

Longtime favorites of the Ocean State — Narragansett operating since 1890 and Del’s since 1948 — the two collaborators have refreshed scores of satisfied customers on and around the beaches of New England for decades.

“When it came to our second ‘Hi Neighbor Mash Up’ collaboration, nothing reminded us of childhood summers on Rhode Island beaches more than Del’s,” says Mark Hellendrung, president of Narragansett Beer. “Given the sessionable style of our Lager, and the growing popularity of shandys, we knew a collaboration with Del’s would create a quintessential summer brew that generations of New Englanders would be thrilled about. The response has been amazing, people have been asking for its release almost daily since first hearing about the beer in February.”

Brewed under the supervision of award-winning Brewmaster Sean Larkin, Narragansett Del’s Shandy provides an effervescent, citrus blast backed by just enough sweet malt to keep it from becoming uncomfortably sour. Narragansett Del’s Shandy, priced at $8.99 SRP, will be available the week of May 12 in six packs of 16-ounce tallboy cans throughout Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York. The beer is 5.0 percent Alcohol By Volume.

Wegmans northboro MA. $7.99 a six pack. Not a Shandy fan but I like Del's and Gansett so well worth it.

Had a few last night. Really lemon forward, like there was actual lemon oil in there. Who knows, but it was pretty tasty.

Hmm... a citrus bomb from a brewery in New England.

That's it, the next HT has been found!

Really wish I was able to get this one in NC (like the Autocrat) - after growing up on the MA/RI line, these beers speak to me and remind me of aspects of my childhood.

This actually sounds pretty dang good to me. I'm not ashamed to admit I like a radler like beer from time to time in the summer heat down here in the South.

I strongly dislike the Shandy as a 'style'. However, I love Del's, so put me in for a sixer when I visit the folks in Rhody.

This is really interesting to me because they used to sell Del's at my elementary school from time to time. I haven't seen it around anywhere else since those days. I need to try to get a can of this somehow.

This stuff is legit. I have never been a Shandy fan, too sweet most times. I do like Gansett very underrated and Del's frozen lemonade is awesome on a hot summer day. Gansett knocked it outta the park on this one. In no way is this a world class beer, but for what it is, they nailed it. Too bad they'll all be gone by the end of May

I thought it tasted like Lemon Pledge. Admittedly I don't like the style nor do I like Del's though. Haha. Just tried it to try it. Seems silly to not just mass produce this when Gansett has to know they'll sell a fuckton.

For a shandy I thought it was good. For something I would buy and drink again it wasn't. It is certainly moving though.

I thought it was pretty good, best of the shandy's that I've had. Actually has a bit of a maltyness to it which is a nice change of pace from most shandy's

Not a huge fan of shandys either, but I bought a single yesterday. Not bad. I would imagine it would be better ice cold out of a cooler on a hot beach day. Not sure if I will choose them though...

Liked it, a good quencher. Easy drinking with some interesting taste going on. But at +5% ABV a tad dangerous to crush a bunch, especially within its target demographic.
