I haven't had the Cream Ale yet but the other Narragansett's I've had were pretty damn good. It's great to see another old time name living and thriving in this day and age.

Ugghh, I can't stand 'Gansett Lager. The Summer Ale was terrific, though, and their Octoberfest not half bad. Haven't tried the Cream Ale yet.

Narragansett is definitely the best cheap, AAL out there. Their bock is pretty damn good too.

Yrs ago, my nephew from Maine came to live with us, and do a plumbing apprenticeship. He spoke in hushed tones of this beer, which he called "Nasty Gasket". I introduced him to Pearl, which he duly proclaimed as an equal. Sorry to say (or am I)?, I have not yet tried Narragansett.

Pearl..I didn't like that one. Even before craft beers showed up.

I think it is on the lower end for macro beers.

Pearl was definitely an "acquired taste". Even my friends who drank Shaefer, Black Label, Heidelberg, etc, couldn't stand it. But @ a buck .69 a six, I got to know it, and like it very well. And for a time, just like Chuck Norris in "Lone Wolf McQuade", I refused to drink anything else.

yeah.. we don't get it up here in NY...i think its a Texas brew... I first heard it mentioned in a great song by David Allen Coe.... a long long time ago...

I'm not going to sh*t on you for + liking it. I dug Schaefer. It used to be in town. Now it's 60's formula Schlitz or the 95% Malt Olympia that I turn to for that good old time taste.

Now if I can just get somebody to bring back a 60's/70's Falstaff! Oh, and yeah, that Oly 95 is pretty dang good AAL.

Their Lager is by far my favorite AAL. All thier craft seasonals are very solid beers for around 8 bucks a sixer of tallboy cans. The new cream ale looks interesting as well, gunna have to pick some up soon.

Diesel, I don't even know if we get it anymore here in OK. It used to be in every 7-11 and grocery store. It still might be available, I dunno. Actually, I see Genessee a lot in liquor stores (Genny cream is very good), but haven't noticed Pearl lately. *side note* After a whole lotta barley wines, stout/porters and IPA, I have been drinking Busch and High Life lately. And I like it.
