Is this a blind hate thread or any of you actually taste this thing? I just bought a six pack and am quite impressed. Not overly sweet or sour just right. 100 better than regular gansett. Will buy again.

Not at all, I would like to try it. Though, I won't be in RI until early August and assume it will be gone by then.

No hate here Gansett is one of my favorite breweries.

Is that the Black Cherry Shandy? Its RI only?

Also the lemonade shady hides the DMS taste in Gansett Lager well.

I hate to admit it but I thought it was pretty good. I would give it a good score for the style. Much better than the regular Dels Shandy. Still would only drink a few at a time because its so sweet.

Choco porter is supposedly late August. Kind of odd timing for a dark beer, but maybe they want to get out in front of the rush of browns and porters that come out in fall.

What's with the recent RI only love from Gansett?

Cementing their core customers. The whole marketing plan is based on the RI identity.

Not sure why its taken them so long to move back to RI. But I do love seeing the RI only stuff. I live 15 from the state line in MA.

Seasonals, Shandys, and Lovecraft have been priced kind of high. I bought the summer ale for $15 a 12pack. Then Del's is $10 a six pack same as summer ale and LoveC 16s. Even Boh Pils is $9-10. Regular lager and light are under $8. Does it really cost them that much more to make these other beers. Or are they just taking advantage of the market. Not mad and I will still buy Gansett but just an observation.

Any beer that's presented as a special series is counting on folks to pay more for it because of that. At the same time, different ingredients from their core beers could contribute to higher prices.

By me (Portland, Maine) tallboys of lager are usually $5.69-6.69 range for six packs. Twelve packs of 12 ounce cans of lager are like $10. It's more or less priced about the same as Budweiser but is way better.

Seasonals/crafts tend to run in the $10 range for six tallboys.

I'd like to see them do a mix case of lager, summer and shandy because they're all basically summer beers.
