Is this the official name of the much-anticipated SN imperial stout? I've been off the grid lately... This is on my must-get list too though.
Yeah I'm pretty sure it's not the same thing as the beer camp oatmeal stout, that was like 8% if I remember right....I think Narwhal clocks in at like 10%. I know that it's coming in 4 packs, like Hoptimum did.
Different beers. Narwhal will be a seasonal release in the vein of bigfoot and from what I have heard will be based loosely on the Ken and Fritz 30th Ann. Stout. It is out in California and I would expect it to make its way north shortly.
Cool. At least now I know what to look for. I was expecting something called Sierra Nevada Imperial Stout, as the last time I'd heard about this release I don't think it had been given the name Narwhal yet. Continue to love SN's branding BTW. Just classy as hell.
It was on the shelf at Elizabeth Station here in Bellingham yesterday. I didn't grab it, maybe tomorrow or Monday.
It's available in Seattle now. Beer Junction announced yesterday that they got it in. It should be available in other stores as well.
