    Hey fellow BA'ers,
I will be attending a friend's wedding this weekend in Nashville, and I will have the majority of the day Saturday, with my old man, to visit a brewery or two. Are there any local ones that are a "must try"? Also is there any local/regional must have beers that are bottled and distro'd in Nashville, that I don't get in Tx? If its to much of a hassle Saturday to chase beers down we will settle in at a brewery and indulge in other local fare, whiskey and bourbon! Which in and out of itself isn't so bad either. I am much obliged for the help fellow BA'ers.

    Cheers,

    Tyler R.

I know Yazoo isn't distributed in TX and their tap room is pretty good. TN Brew Works is a solid taproom, also. Check out MidTown Wines & Spirits if you are looking for stuff to take back home. Beers on draft I think Flying Saucer has your best selection of local / southern brews. Get yourself some Schlafly Pumpkin, I don't think its distributed to TX (could be wrong though)

Midtown is the best bottle shop, by far.

The best breweries I'd suggest are Cool Springs, Turtle Anarchy, and TN Brew Works.

Looking at TN Brew Works I am going to have to order a flight while I'm there. The saisons and sweet potato stout sound solid. Thanks for the suggestions gentlemen.

Was in Nashville 2 weeks ago... Someone here suggested that I seek out Blackstone's Black Belle, which I came across at MidTown Wine & Spirits, and I loved it. The Yazoo taproom was also a great time, as was Flying Saucer.

Yazoo looks promising as well. Is it safe to assume BA's that Yazoo and TN Brew Works are a step ahead of the two breweries out in Franklin?

The best bottle shop in Nashville...better than Midtown (which I do like) and Frugal...is Craft Brewed. Not only best selection but also can get a pint while there. If only had time to stop at one bottle shop, that's the one to stop at. If out in Franklin, Red Dog is the place for bottles. On par with any bottle shop in middle TN. Cool Springs Brewery is great if out that way as well.

As far as breweries, Yazoo, Jackalope and TN Brew Works are all close to each other. Yazoo is probably the must stop of those. I'm not a big Flying Saucer fan. I much prefer 12 South Taproom or Midtown Brewhouse.

Different places. Yazoo is a brewery. Their flagship stuff is solid. If they have any Embrace the Funk stuff, that is what you want. Cool Springs Brewery is a brewpub. Great fish and chips. They do much more "off the wall" stuff. Mango IPA, Ginger IPA...couple of homebrewers brewed some of there stuff...a hoppy brown (that won the brewer a trip to GABF) and no longer on I believe...A mountain dew beer. Yep. Beer that taste like Mountain Dew. TN Brew Works has a great taproom. Turtle Anarchy does solid beer as well. Of the 4 mentioned, I would rank Yazoo and CSB ahead. JMO

Dew Me Now (Mtn Dew tasting beer) was amazing. It couldn't have been more spot on to the soda.

Honestly, their Mango IPA is probably one of the best beers that comes out of this state IMO. Out of my 4 day Nashville trip back in June, Cool Springs was definitely one of the highlights. We got a ten beer flight and enjoyed.

Derrick is a mad man. Now they have bombers for sale and their latest oak aged saison was really well done. And bringing in home brewers to brew on their system is awesome. I think the combination of food and the beer, it is a must stop.

Art's Dew Me Now...I thought is was great, but it def. is a "either you like it or you don't" beer.
