Hey guys. I'll be in Nashville with some buddies for a weekend from March 24-March 27. Just wondering about any specific breweries, beers, bottle shops that we may want to check out. I know there are several breweries, just not sure which ones to hit up. And also specific beers/bottle shops to look into. Thanks in advance.

I would probably look at the Nashville thread that is two below this, but then again, I am not the smartest

Agree with the breweries listed above, but would ask if there are particular styles you like or a certain area you are staying in?

    Breweries:
Bearded Iris (Germantown) has great IPAs, the Yazoo ETF (the Gulch) series is great brett and sour beers, Southern Grist (East Nashville) has a little more variety of styles. New Heights has really stepped it up and I hear their tap room is cool, I need to swing through. Smith and Lentz (East Nashville) is also solid, cool tap room with ping pong. Mantra is good, but ~30 minutes south of town in Franklin

    Bottle Shops:
I would suggest Craft Brewed, it has a tap room so you can grab a flight or a pint while you shop. Other good shops near downtown are Frugal and Midtown Wine and Spirits. Both are more of a big box store though. Woodland wine merchant is good if you're in East Nashville, but smaller. Red Dog is great if you are going to be in Franklin.

    Good beer bars:
Flying Saucer downtown, 12S Taproom in 12S, Hurryback in the midtown area (old school video games too), Hop stop in East Nashville, the Broadway brewhouse in Cool Springs has been killing it with their taplist lately but the other locations (downtown and midtown) are solid as well. Butchertown hall in Germantown usually has a solid taplist and good food, but service is slow so sit at the bar.

Again, if there are particular styles you are looking for or a certain area you are staying let me know and can give more area specific info.

    Hope you enjoy your time!

Thanks for the replies thus far. We are stayin in the Quality Inn in Downtown. I'm a big IPA guy but also love sours, porters, stouts. This time of year, i'm going more for IPA and sours, not so much the darker/heavier beers. We have Flying Saucer here, but may convince my friends to go to one there!!

As for the bottle shops, we will have a car so we can drive around. And not sure where hotel is in relation to these, but looking to get stuff I can't get back in Raleigh, so local stuff or just other rare stuff. Craft Brewed seems like it may be best option.

Seems like Bearded Iris and Yazoo may be good options to start.

Southern Grist has a great, varied tap list. If you're looking for IPAs and sours, they usually have a couple of each. And they do crowlers if you want to take something you really like back to the hotel for the pre-game or after party.

Any good events/taps happening this upcoming weekend, the 10th-12th of March? I'll be in town, driving from Chicago - thanks!
