Noticed a couple of these on the shelves locally and was wondering if anyone has tried this? Does Natty Post their releases anywhere? Facebook? Twitter? They usually release these bottles without much pub. here in Charlotte

Where'd you spot that? I've probably been around it but haven't been actively looking for it on the shelf.

What's up Kevin!! Haven't seen ya in a bit!! We had a tasting with them a few weeks back, maybe a month, The Imp. Stout is pretty rockin! I would definitely pick up a bottle, we sold out the night of the tasting, so folks were digging it! I think that they do some "facebooking" and such but most of the releases are really small batch (like 600 btls. and less) so I don't think they put out to much press as they know they will sell out anyway!! Hope you can make it up my way soon!! Take care brother!

I've seen it sitting on the shelves here a couple of times. For anyone in the know: Is this just a repackaged Black Powder Imperial Stout? If not, it's curious that both beers weigh in at 8.4% ABV. If so, it's a nice way to charge twice as much per ounce.

It is a cellared version of the Black Powder Imperial Stout,it's a little more mellow and drinkable.I had some awhile back,it's pretty good.

I only had a taste here ^^ so would have to get a bottle to give any kind of accurate review...but I was pretty impressed with the little I did have...and I've never cared much for natty greene's.

I grabbed one at Tasty Beverage and it was pretty damn tasty...I seem to remember it only being like 7-8 bucks also..

Glad to hear you enjoyed it. Not to push the point too much, but how can this be a cellared version of the Black Powder Imperial Stout if it was brewed in November 2011, as the label says? Was it held for the three months or so after it was brewed and before it was released, or is there something more to it?

Well on the bottle it says cellared,Iam guessing with the same ABV. and some of the same traits to the beer that it is the Black Powder.Iam guessing it was brewed and cellared for 3-4 months.

Saw them this weekend at ~$20 a bottle. That was the original cost from the brewery as well... If you saw it for $7-8 I hope you stocked up as they did that by mistake. Cheers!

Hmm..I'm pretty sure the bottles I saw were in that range...under ten bucks..and it was from a (very cute) employee at a tasting. I don't think that's a very stock-up-worthy price for what it is anyway...

Yeah I definitely had them in the $8 range and the cute rep. Amos was talking about was me, he's a sucker for a mountain guy with a beard!! (J/K it was Natty's rep. but I think I'm still a very handsome man!!)
