I have had some Natty Green beers, nothing memorable, meaning I don't recall them being either spectacular, or terrible.

As for breweries near each other, I have stood in one brewery (Catawba) and can see 3 other breweries (Twin Leaf, Funkatorum and Greenman) directly, and could see more if they wern't hidden by other buildings. There are 8 in the 'south slope' area of Asheville, and soon to be 9.

The article mentions the Asheville Effect, and the tasting rooms here. Distribution aside, I love the smaller venues, one of which I refer to as our "Cheers", where everyone really does know you name, at least on $3 pint night, to the larger venues, that I guess are focused on tourists, which is fitting for Asheville being a tourist destination for many reasons. Examples, Greenman's Green Mansion... nice, modern, fancy, sterile. We still go to "Dirty Jacks" the original tasting room in the old building next door. Or Highland's tasting room, big, noisy, but not a comfortable vibe, or where you end up talking to others.

And the food trucks.... there can be as much adventure there as there is in the beers, an some of it the best food out there. We typically prefer that over the 'in house food', sometime a separate business in the same facility.

I think the food trucks here are like the breweries, turn out a great product or go home, and the competition brings out the best in both.
