What happened? I'm late hearing this, but why are they closing?

I think that they had some lease issues. They are not closing the Greensboro location. I also heard through the grapevine that there might some expansion/movement plans as a result. I know, that isnt concrete

The landlord changed for the building Natty's rents out for their Raleigh brewpub location. I remember hearing somewhere that the new landlord was going to double their rent and continuing operation there wouldn't have been financially viable. Natty's the company will be just fine, but this is obviously pretty shitty for the employees in Raleigh. They're throwing a going away party on Saturday in Raleigh, which will go to help out the employees of that location.

The owners have been talking about expanding into a new base of operations for a while now. I remember hearing that the downtown Greensboro brewpub isn't going anywhere, but the current production facility in Greensboro will probably be redundant once the new facility is up and running in a few years. Who knows if the Raleigh location would have stayed open when "Natty's World" opens up.

AFAIK, no location has been set for the new facility. It very well could be in Raleigh or Charlotte, but I'm crossing my fingers they'll keep brewing operations in Greensboro.

Just had Natty's recently and was worried they're closing. Glad this isn't the case.

They want to keep all brewing in Greensboro and they're being smart about a new and bigger operation.
