Alright NFL addicts, here we go. This is my first time running a BIF and I want to make it a regular one if it goes well. It’s an NFL confidence pool. For those who have done one skip to the next section. Every week you pick the winner of each NFL game, OUTRIGHT (no spreads involved). This is where it gets tricky. You rank each game in order of your confidence that you will pick the victor. For example, let’s say there are 15 games. You rank each game from 1 to 15, with 15 being your most confident selection. For every correctly picked game you will get that many points. There are better guides online if you need more info than that.

    How this BIF will work:

I’d like to get a minimum of 17 and maximum of 51 participants. There are 17 weeks in the season. Each participant will put up at least one box. Non-winners of the whole season will put up two boxes. The first box will be for weekly winners. Since every one has to put one in the pot, this box will be smallish. Minimum 44 oz. Max 72 oz. The second box will be larger and for season winners. Minimum 100 oz Max 200 oz. No restrictions on ratings or styles. Send what you would like to get if you won or try to hit target's wants.

    Small box breakdown (weekly winners):

17-33 players - 1 box, with extra boxes going to season winners
34-50 players - 2 boxes, extras to season winners
    51 - 3 boxes

    Large box breakdown (season winners):

    17-30 players -1st gets 50%, 2nd 33%, 3rd 17%. At 30, it works out 13, 9, 5
32-39 players - we add 4th place and they get the first box, working backwards adding boxes to each winner’s take, one at a time, snaking back down. At 39 it’s 15, 11, 7, 2
41-51 players- we add 5th place and work backwards in the same fashion as last time. At 51 it’s 18, 13, 9, 4, 2

All targets will be assigned at the completion of the regular season. Shipping can start immediately after and must be complete by Friday, January 24th (a week before the Super Bowl). I think this could be a real fun BIF and hope to get a full slate of participation. Lots of chances to win. Because it’s a complicated BIF, please no noobs. BM me you're interested.

To clarify a little, each week whoever has the highest weekly score will be that week's winner and will be the recipient of 1 to 3 small boxes, depending on how many players we have. This means that we could have as many as 22 people receiving boxes.

To keep the weekly winners all receiving the same number of boxes, any extra small boxes will be sent to the regular season winners. For example, lets say we have 23 players, we would have 6 extra small boxes being split between the top 3.

Another clarification, if you win more than one week, you get all the boxes from those weeks, not just one weeks worth.

Tempting but I feel like I could easily f Roget to set up weeks...

Is this being done by an online service like fantasy football is tracked or are we posting our rankings weekly on beer advocate?

The most you will have to send is two boxes. One small one and one medium one. But you have at least 20 chances to win...I like them odds.

I guess that does sound a tad hypocritical. I started participating in the BA community via the trading forum before I jumped in the BIF game. My first BIF was the secret bunny one, which was pretty simple (every one was assigned a target...the end). I have since participated in a couple others and felt I would do a good job running this one. Due to the amount of time the participants need to invest for the next four months, I felt it appropriate that participants have at least a little history.
