NBO: Halloween Costume Party

Thanks to some suggestions (thanks Cuzco), I've decided to redo the NBO: Pumpkin, Spice, and Everything Nice BIF and add a new and fun twist! Check it out in the rules below!

My favorite time of year is right around the corner and, if you’re like me, you’ve been anticipating the bombardment of pumpkin, Oktoberfest and stouts that are headed our way. While pumpkin ales came a bit too early for my liking, I’ve been dying to start trying out quite a few of the new ones that have recently hit the market.

In celebration of this wonderful season of beer, let’s all get together and share a pint of this tasty brew.

Here’s how it’s going go down.

Participant Requirements

1. Must have at least one BIF/trade under your belt. Make sure you have this listed in your profile so I can verify.
2. Must be able to ship out no later than October 18, 2013.
3. Update your wants list to include Pumpkin/Oktoberfest beers you want to give a try.
4. Try to hit at least one of your targets wants. Try sending stuff not within targets distro. Check out www.seekabrew.com to see what your target doesn’t get that you may be able to acquire.

Rules

1. A minimum of 110oz. must be shipped. Maximum limit of 200oz.
2. The breakdown of bottles will be at least:
   1. Pumpkin Beers (minimum of 85 BA Score or rAvg of 3.7)
   2. 3 Marzen/Oktoberfest Beers (minimum of 80 BA Score or rAvg of 3.55)
   3. 3 Stouts/Barrel-Aged Stouts (minimum of 90 BA Score or rAvg of 3.9)
3. One piece of swag.
4. HERE'S THE TWIST! COSTUMES!!!
   1. The sender has the option of sending their target either a costume of their choosing (purchased or handmade) or sending their target some candy. If you send a costume, you'll be entered in for the ante box (see below for more on the ante box).
   2. For those that send costumes, their target must post a picture in the Hints and Hauls thread (to be created). The target must post a picture of them (or someone/thing) wearing the costume with their haul in the picture. They can be as creative as they want as long as it contains them wearing the costume and the haul of beer they received.
   3. After all targets have received their beer, a new thread will be created that will contain all the costume submitted hauls. The BA community then has the opportunity to vote on the best costume. The picture with the most 'Likes' will be the winner and the sender of the costume will receive the Ante box. If there are enough donations to the ante, additional winners may be selected based on 'Like' count.
   4. Ante Box - My stash is low so I don't have any greats to contribute but I will throw in a couple for the winner's prize. If anyone wants to contribute to the prize, please BM me. Once a winner(s) is selected, I will shoot you a BM with the winner(s) address.

5. Must ship out by October 18, 2013 so everyone gets their box in time for Halloween.
6. Voting period will commence once all target's have received their package. Voting will last a week and the winner will be selected the day after the voting ends.

How to Join

1. Send me a BM with your name, address, shirt size, and favorite type of candy.
2. Participation is limited to first 40 people who BM me. Minimum participation of at least 15. Registration cutoff date is September 15.
3. Target information will be sent out by me the day after the cutoff date or max participation, whichever comes first.

 

We're at 13 participants. 2 more for the minimum but we have a max of 40 or cutoff date of 9/15, whichever comes first.

More crafty than craft but is it acceptable to send a Sam Adams Fat Jack? Found some in a local beer shop so I'm thinking of picking on up to send to my target. Thoughts?
