NBO: Juniors Jaunting for Brews

    This is a follow up to the No Sophomore Slumps Allowed BIF http://beeradvocate.com/community/threads/no-sophomore-slumps-allowed-bif-hints-and-hauls.11578/

    Size: A number of participants from the prior BIF have expressed interest in another round, but this is open to new participants as well. I would guess we end up with 10-14 people total.

    Format: This will be a shotgun start BIF and I will coordinate matching everyone up with a target and sending out addresses.

    Timing: The target ship date will be June 25th. You MUST ship by this date however you are also free to ship sooner if that works better for you.

    Rules: We have a great group of people continuing from the prior rounds and have upped the minimum beer spend to $40 which should include local beers. You are not restricted to just locals, but if you have access to beers that your target does not, those are fair game too. Check out http://seekabrew.com/ if you have question on state distributions. Knocking of all your targets wants is not necessary for this BIF, but if you can hit a couple that's great.

    Swag: In addition to the beer also include 1 Glass (pint is fine) plus 1 local/regional food item.

    Definitely excited, thanks for picking it up!! Hmmm...some local food item fom buffalo.....nothing comes to mind...anyone with a suggestion?

    I'm in (sent duces a bm yesterday), but I had the same thought about a food item from Rochester. No way to package up a garbage plate. I'm sure I'll figure it out though. If it wasn't summer I'd say you could ship sponge candy laxer. We have lots of that here as well, but I remember hearing it was more of a Buffalo thing.

    laxer, as a more serious suggestion, does anchor bar bottle their sauce? I prefer gabriels gate or bar billl wings, but anchor bar is famous. Too bad you can't package up beef on weck, mighty taco, mike's steak, or jim's steakout. Like Rochester, Buffalo has drunk food locked down. Oh also that loganberry soda is only available in Western, NY.

    Yeah, anchor bar does, def gonna send out some, didn't know about loganberry thought it was everywhere....it's awesome you know the buffalo drunk scene, I am a Gabriel gate fan as well, also next time your drinking in buffalo you gotta go to The Pink for a steak sandwich!! Will have to say empire hots/ Nick Tahoe/Charlie's all awesome garbage plates, as well dinosaur for BBQ and the dog house....all great!!! (Lived in Rochester for a year). Diceman you can send out a goey butter cake from the hill, fried ravioli from mcguirks or maybe the slider plate...( Was in STL for a year as well) :slight_smile:

    This is filling up fast, but there are a couple of spots left. I have responded to everyone that sent me a BM so far so if you have not heard back for some reason let me know.

    One other thing I forgot to mention is that since we are doing 1 food item please BM me if there are any food allergies your target should be aware of.
