NBO? NBA Chance 0-9 pool

    I'm not an NBA fan, but always looking for a reason to follow a sport (or at least have some interest). I'm looking to do something along the lines of the MLB 13 or NFL 33 club pool.

    My idea is a 0-9 pool, the only thing that matters is the last digit of the final score for your team. Winning and losing does not matter. Once you have crossed out all ten digits you win (i.e. 80, 91, 102, 93, 84, 75, 106, 87, 98, 79). We need one player for each team for it to work. I would prefer random team assignment, but could potentially be convinced of doing a draft of some sort.

    For right now, just post in if you would be in. Trying to see if we have anywhere enough interest to turn this into a thing. If someone has a better idea, I'm all ears.

    True, it is complete luck. I don't have a team though and I hate the Knicks and the Nets. Taking suggestions....

    I am Lakers fan obviously LOL but wondering how this works as no doubt will hit more than once threw the season
    How many boxes do you win if it hits ? and what are size min/max on box sent out ?

    Since it's chance, let's say 44 oz, we can split shipping into three groups randomly assigned to account for up to three winners.

    @tommyguz couldn't stay away, but I truly loathe the NBA... even this great batch of characters that have already (and I'm sure will be) signed up won't likely sway my opinion on joining this, unfortunately! I'm going to take a break on these over the holiday season as well- especially if I'm signing up for another round of NFL 33!! Will be fun to watch the thread though!

    Considering it... When's the deadline? I'd be more comfortable joining if I get through a few more weeks of the NFL Pick em' without having to ship out beer. I'll keep my eye on this thread to see where it goes and may jump in before your 30th or the deadline.

    Also, there's not really a reason you need one player for every team, you just can't have more than one player for any given team; but if you had say 20 people, the remaining 10 teams would just be irrelevant to the competition.

    Not a bad point, it would severely reduce payouts though. Let's see how it goes. We have until the season starts, which I believe is around the end of the month. October 28th actually.

    Been thinking about this. I think it might hit quickly and often.

    What if we had two sessions: Start of season to all star break and all star break until start of play offs? Winner would be whichever team had the most unique scores at the completion of each session. Duplicate score totals don't count. Half ship each session. Ties could be decided by splitting boxes or a tie breaker of some sort.

    Would delay the ship date until after the holidays.

    Just a thought.

    That's true, I agree that filling the league is preferable, I just wanted to point out that you don't have to call the whole thing off even if you get only a handful of participants.

    That's an idea, what do people think? By unique scores, I assume you mean full scores and not just last digit?
