NBO: NFL Picks 2014 Season

    Planning on running an NFL picks league this year. We have only ~2 months until the season starts so thought I would get this started and throw out what I was thinking and collect/implement feedback.

    1. I will plan on using either ESPN or Yahoo to collect the picks each week. I have only used Yahoo for this in the past, please post your preference – happy to go with the consensus on this.

    2. There will a weekly competition as well as a full season competition.

    Weekly Competition: The lowest scoring entry that week will send 1 box (min of 44oz 90+ rated beer) to the highest scoring entry that week (tie-breakers will be important). There will be a rule that after shipping a weekly box, you are ineligible to ship the next 3 weeks (so the most you would ever have to ship is once every 4 weeks). The shipper that week will be next lowest scoring entry. No limitation on how many times you can win a week. Probably will use tie-breakers from whatever site we end up using.

    Season Competition: Will payout boxes (pay-outs determined by number of participants) to the top places. 1 box = min of 22oz 94+ rated beer and 44oz of 90+ rated beer.

    Tie-break for season competition:
    1. Most weeks won
    2. Fewest Weeks Lost
    3. Highest score in week 16
    4. Highest Score in week 15
    5. Highest score working backwards from week 14 through week 1
    6. Highest score in week 17
    7. Draw Lots

    Let me know what you guys think. Happy to tweak it...

    Well now, the worst can be is 5 boxes, not counting any mini bifs I might run

    Fairly vaild point, but between SWTFYW, the next round of Locals, the Stout BIF, and the Saison one I've been talking about starting myself... that's already a lot more than "total hiatus" over the next few months.
