NBO: Preakness Stakes - Bourbon Barrel Edition

back in college, my friends and i would get together and throw in $10 and draw horses names out of a hat, and if your horse won, it was a great day with the winner taking the pot. with it being triple crown time again, i am going to try the same thing, but with bourbon (or other) barrel aged beer. the cost of admission is 22 ounces of 90+ rated bourbon barrel aged beer, and you have to ship by 6/4. not yet sure how many horses there will be this year, but its usually around 10, so this will be open on a first come first served basis (can run two concurrent). please message me your contact info. i will enter all those interested in a random number generator, and the number you get is the horse you will own. the list of horses will be posted here when announced, so if youre 5th on the random generator list, you will have the horse at the 5th starting position. make sense? good. previous years are below as i plan on doing this for each race.

here is an updated list of possible entrants into the preakness field. there are currently a dozen horses that have not yet confirmed entry: http://www.preakness.com/race-info/contenders. reminder that doesnt mean all 12 of these horses will run, but are considering, so we have to wait until the field is confirmed before we know how many people are participating. as previously mentioned, i can run this twice .

so it looks like there are 11 confirmed horses, and we currently have 12 participants. so long story short, either we get 10 more, of the 12th participant will be unfortunately be left out. lets wait and see...

 

ok guys, i will run the generator tonight, looks like we have a strong 11. keep a watchful eye on your emails. as its a smaller pool, im going to limit winners to 1st and 2nd place, receiving 6 boxes and 3 boxes, respectively. if anyone feels differently, please let me know prior to tonight.

the single digit favorites are at positions 3, 5, and 11, with a 10-1 at 7 but anything can happen.

so here is how it will work, im going to throw the horses into a random order generator based on their pole position: first will be cherry wine, then uncle lino, and so on...then the order that is spits out will be align with the order in which you signed up for this (below, as close as i could get it):
