After much discussion to (hopefully) perfect the rules and format of the games and tournament, I am here to present to you Spring Poker Season BIF. AgentZero, Retail1LO and I are running this thing together. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in this thread or a conversation with one or all of us.

One thing I want to make sure that everyone is aware of is that this schedule consists of 12 weeks of poker, 9 of which are included in the season series BUT anyone may enter any of the tournaments at any time and just play for the weekly prizes. There is no need to play the whole season in order to play some poker as long as you have a good trading history or another BA on here to vouch for you. If you'd like to play the season though and have a chance at the ante prizes, that will be explained below.

If you would like to play in the season tournament, all you need to do is send us a beermail and let us know what you'd like to put up for antes. 2 nice bombers is all it takes to get into the season tourney - not looking for whales or anything, just good beers (more explained below).

The schedule runs 12 weeks and will start Sunday, March 18th, and conclude on Sunday, June 17th. There are 9 weeks of hold 'em will go towards the season series (but also run as individual tourneys with weekly payouts for those that just want to play occasionally). Of those 9 weeks in the season series, the 2 lowest scores for each player will be thrown out whether they are bad finishes or no shows. So don't worry if you have to miss a week or two. There are 3 weeks of other games that will be run as individual tourneys with weekly payouts. And there are 2 weeks off for Easter and Memorial Day weekend.

    March 18 - Hold 'Em
    March 25 - Hold 'Em
    April 1 - Omaha
    April 8 - Off (Easter)
    April 15 - Hold 'Em
    April 22 - Hold 'Em
    April 29 - 7 Card Stud
    May 6 - Hold 'Em
    May 13 - Hold 'Em
    May 20 Omaha
May 27 - Off (Memorial Day)
    June 3 - Hold 'Em
    June 10 - Hold 'Em
    June 17 - Hold 'Em

The structure for the Hold 'Em games is below. The structure for the other games will be decided later, but will be similar in having plenty of chips to allow for some playing time.

The game is Texas Hold'em. Chip stacks will start out at 5,000 with blinds increasing every 10 minutes. Start time will be 8:00 P.M., Eastern Standard Time. Weekly buy-in is 48 oz. minimum of good beer. Focus should be on getting wants if possible. Please make an effort not to send things they can get in their own market. Send a box you would be happy to receive.

The poker season "hub" is a Google Doc that can be accessed with the following link:
    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Akz6c1gbyMb6dDJoV3NOTk9wSUpYSk5VOXpnamV5RWc#gid=2

First Tab: Results & Standings - Applies to season players only
This is where you will be able to view the points awarded in each week's game, and see who the tournament leader is.

    Second Tab: Shipping Log
This is where the information for who ships to who each week, will be located. This will help us keep track of payouts. You may NOT edit/input information in the "Shipping to:" column. You MUST and WILL input information in the "Tracking #" and "Status" columns. NOTE: I am NOT the head of dispute resolution. Seriously. I will not get on people's asses about shipping. I will say this. You are NOT permitted to play in another game, until you've shipped for the most recent one you owe beer on. Understood? Good. While I don't expect everyone to ship on the Monday immediately following a game, I expect that everyone will exercise the utmost diligence in getting their box out.

Third Tab: Point Structure - Applies to season players only
This tab illustrates the manner in which points will be awarded based on finishing position, for tournaments up to 30 people. Tournaments with a greater number of participants, award more points than ones with fewer. I will not field arguments when people say "It's no fair I couldn't make it this week, and there were 25 players...look at all the points handed out!" Those are the breaks.

    Fourth Tab: Payout Structure
This tab illustrates whom will be sending beer to whom. How many spots get paid out (receive beer) and which "losers" will be shipping to them, is again dependent on the size of the field for that week. If there's anyone that cannot wrap their head around how to read that spreadsheet, send me a message in a separate conversation and I'll explain it to you. The season-ending payouts, for those who choose to ante up, will also operate off this structure, using the total points accrued (found in column K of the Results & Standings tab). A person my choose to "ante up" at any point during the season. However, you are not eligible to receive beer from this aspect of the tournament unless you declare yourself in the running, and post antes. Only points accrued AFTER you have posted your ante will count towards the season ending point totals.

    Fifth Tab: Tournament Antes
This tab is where we will input the beers you intend to ante up in the event you wish to be eligible for the season ending payouts. You may NOT edit/input information on this page. Proposed antes must be approved by the organizers. These should be GOOD beers, ladies and gentlemen. We do not expect off the shelf beers, unless they are awesome seasonals/limited release stuff. 2 bottles, 44 oz minimum. We will have the say on whether a bottle is sufficient enough to be used as a portion of your ante. Returning, because it was fun and popular, will be the draft format for selecting antes. How many players get to choose antes, and the draft order, will be determined by the number of people who pony up antes to begin with.

    Sixth Tab: Rolodex
Pretty self explanatory. All of your pertinent information goes here. Simply follow the lead. This is where you'll find the information you need in order to ship beer when you're required to do so.

I realize this is a lot of info here, so please feel free to ask any questions you may have. Hope to see you all in the game next week.

I just responded to Retail1LO I'd love to join. I usually have Sunday evenings free.

For an ante I can put up an Midnight Sun Anchorage and 2x 12 KBS Does that sound sufficient?
