NBO - World Cup BIF feeler...and possible starting thread

    Bear with me as I'm trying to work out the details...but, here's what I'm thinking. 64 people [63 plus ME], each randomly assigned a team [pulled from a hat or some other format if so desired].

    1st round: the WINNER of each grouping recieves a box from the other three teams in their group [min of 88 oz]
    2nd round: the WINNER of each pairing within the Round of 16 will receive box [favorite 6er, favorite bomber] from that pairing's loser... FOR EXAMPLE: If Group A winner defeats Group B Runner-up, Group B Runner up ships to Group A winner]
    3rd round: the WINNER of each Quarter Final Pairing will receive a box [one sour, one stout, one ipa, one barleywine, one BA beer] from that pairing's loser... FOR EXAMPLE: Group A Winner Vs Group C Winner if they both make the Quarters and Group A winner wins, they receive box from Group C Winner
    4th round: the WINNER of each Semi-Final Pairing will receive a box [88 oz min & glassware] from that pairing's loser... FOR EXAMPLE: Group A Winner Vs Group E Winner if they both make the Quarters and Group A winner wins, they receive box from Group E Winner
    5th round: The WORLD CUP CHAMPION shall recieve a box from the runner up that consists of a Growler, Glass piece, T-shirt from the same brew pub and 44 oz min of bottles... possibly, something Soccer related as well? a ball? a jersey? a __________?

    SO, essentially, the more one wins, the more one receives... To be part, you are assuring you're willing to at least ship 88 oz of beer if you DON'T make it out of the first grouping, yet have the chance to win a couple of boxes...

    If this is something that sounds reasonable, chime in here.... I'm trying to have a little fun w/ the soccer, while having something somewhat simple for a BIF.

    Interested - a quick YES will suffice for now. You MUST BE in good standing here on BA and have at least been a part of one BIF as your history... Luckily, there's 19 days to get the details worked out and fill this one up...

    No offense but I think you are a little late to the party. Getting 63 others by Thursday is a stretch to say the least. You should just jump in @Syracuse12's and make it one more!

    EDIT: How is there still 19 days left?

    Ive been running mine for about 3 weeks so far and just now got over 60 people, not sure you going to get enough in time. Good luck with it, but if you want to join mine, you are more than welcome. The more the merrier, and the leg work is done.

    not me, just trying to guess what he meant. Have the fun is cheering for your beer team, and hoping they don't mess up your June bif answers at the same time :slight_smile:

    Alas... Trying to do something too quickly and using poor resources have caused me to F this up... Consider this BIF a waste, and delete... Apologies!!

    Is not a way to delete threads still??
