Sourfest in Charlotte was a lot of fun and pretty good bang for the buck. The Raleigh rare beer tasting seems to have a pretty strong lineup, but I've never been. If you can make it down to Charleston, Brewvival is always worth the price of admission.

Summertime Brews Fest in Greensboro, usually in July is a very good festival. The Greensboro Coliseum is a great venue; easy in, easy out and near downtown.
