My family is driving down to NC next weekend(going to Topsail/Wilmington) what are some beers they should bring back for me. On my list is Duck Rabbit-Rabid Duck, Hoppy Bunny. Foothills-BB peoples porter. Anything else I should put on my list. Anything from NC, SC, GA, FL

Olde Hickory Imperial Stout is well worth checking out as well and should still be readily available.

The Olde Hickory Imperial Stout is definitely worth picking up. Any other Duck Rabbit seasonals you see are worth picking up. You should be able to find the Baltic Porter still and possibly the Barleywine.

Sweetwater IPA is a good one to pick up. They make a number of good brews besides that, but I'm not sure what all is on the shelves right now. If you can stomach the price tag, maybe a Mother Earth beer or two.

Get some regular People's Porter too, try 'em side by side. Foothills Hoppyum is also solid, not spectacular though.

Foothills BA Porter may be hard to find now, but case worthy IMO, Rabid Duck is great. Olde Hickory IMP Stout is always a good bet. Greenman Imp stout if a 20 buck bottle doesn't scare you, I haven't had this one.

Olde Hickory Imperial Stout like everyone else is saying is quite delicious. Definitely give Rabid Duck and Foothill's BBL People's Porter a try too, still plenty of bottles left in my area. If you happen to see Olde Hickory's Eiraphiotes or Irish Walker, I'd think about picking those up as well.

Slight threadjack but I've been surprised by the lack of NC beers I've been able to try here in the Outer Banks. I've seen Carolina Brewing Co (eh on the IPA), some Duck-Rabbit and Mothers Earth (Sisters of the Moon IPA is very solid), but that's about it. Even Weeping Radish has been difficult to find in Nags Head, although we stopped off there on the way down. No Foothills or Olde Hickory. On the plus side, I was unexpectedly pleased by the OBX Brewing double IPA and the Lemongrass Wheat.

You should be able to stop at a Total Wine and find quite a wide range of NC beers that don't make it to the Midwest.

Foothills has only been bottling regular brews for a short time, and OHB distribution has only just reached east to Raleigh this past year. So yeah, far east end of the state isn't where you're going to find the bulk of what's available in the state. You've got to head west, young man!
