From what I remember, it tastes about the same.

I had several Highland Southern Sixer's over the weekend and that thing is still drinking very well. Best hoppy beer by Highland (possibly best packaged beer by Highland).

    hey y'all,

i posted a while back saying i was moving to Raleigh, asking for any advice and saying i'd have some NE IPAs to share at some point. well this sunday i'll be at the bottle share at pelagic beer and wine off person street, sharing a can of Bissell Swish and a bottle of Maine Beer Co. Dinner if anyone wants to come by and hang for a bit.

    cheers,

    alex

edit: also bringing some of my homebrew to share but that's not really worth getting excited about :slight_frown: ... there's always next batch!

Very generous offer indeed. I have never had Dinner before but, if you guys have the opportunity to try Swish, I would suggest getting in on this offer. That neon glow of Swish is so kewl and the taste?... Oh that taste.

Highlands released their Daycation session IPA today. Went to the release party today and at 4.9% ABV, 40 IBU and Mosaic, El Dorado, and Azacca hops it drinks light and quite nice.

This is the first year round brew introduced in 2017.

Agree with recent posts on Highland's Southern Sixer. Picked up a 4-pack of NoDa's Hop Cakes....seems to be better or right in line with the batch I had from 2015.

Great another beer for me to try this summer on my trek from SC to Vermont and Maine

You might as well scratch Swish off of your list. It is only available by limited release starting in the fall and ending in April.

Back to NC beer... a heads-up. Jai Alai is on tap @ the Beer Study's new Durham location. It is being sold under name Oskar Blues Hoppy Floppy. My guess is that is the only way OB can sell it at this time given what I understand to be pending NC licensing requirements and what not. I sure enjoyed this much more than cans I fetched up in Richmond some time ago which were shipped from CCB.

I heard it might be hitting grocery stores as early as next week in NC.

Fonta Flora's "Tree Sauce" IPA with maple syrup is that hot fire.

Got a growlette of it and after my first sip proclaimed... "This is special".

Awesome hop pairing and, IMO, the best variant of Long Stride to date. The timing of this release is ideal as I have a batch using nearly same hop bill keg conditioning now. It will be great to do a side by side comparison.

Anyone tried Birdsong's Honey DIPA thing?

It's great as usual IMHO. Birdsong doesn't the accolades for the whales and whatnot but the make some of the most consistently good beers in town. It's been sold out in cans for a while but they still had it on draft at the brewery last night. However anything outside of the brewery could be getting pretty long in the tooth (first release in Jan then again in Feb).

Thanks for feedback. Was looking at maybe hitting up the new carolina beer temple in ayrsley for a growler fill...you think too old?

Beer Temple turns their kegs fast so it should have been of the last ones out of the brewery. I didn't have Honey Pie last night at Birdsong but my wife had two so she thought it was still drinking great!

New Long Stride is the straight up titty-sprinkles. Probably the best batch yet.
