Really enjoyed NA's Steez. Had it at the same time as Newgrass' NE IPAs and I think NA takes the cake. Had a little butter, but I enjoy the richness it adds to the beer.

Has anyone actually been to Newgrass? I had no idea it was in Shelby. Which isn't that far from me.

I've been enjoying Salud's IPAs over the last 2 weeks, stoked to have a good brewery in Charlotte.

Bought 2 each of Steez, New Jack, and All the Cool Kids. After 2 tastings- Loved the New Anthem especially Steez. Cant wait to get some more from them! Butter both times for All the Cool Kids. Not going to finish.

I have not but I hear they have good bluegrass shows if you are into that. Also the offerings they brought to Cardinal Directions (Raise Up & Bathtub Gin) were much more impressive than anything they're packaging thus far IMO.

    Transplant brewers

Just had Wilmington's Brewing Forgot To Filter, very well done. Pillowy hops nectar in my book.

Have any of y'all got beer from Burial for a wedding? If so was it just buying cases of cans or can you pre order cans?

Getting married next year and everyone is IPA people. Would love to get some Burial.

Stopped by Bond Bothers today on my way back to Wilmington. Enjoyed Obfuscate and thought their Sour game was solid. A lot of potential here. Wish they had crowlers today.

We got married in Asheville a few years back when Burial was new, I inquired about a keg but they didn't have any to spare. And that was before they were canning. It's hard to believe they wouldn't sell one to a private party now. You may have to go through a retailer though, I'd give somewhere like Tasty a call and see what they can do for you.

Was at a wedding this past weekend and they had a keg of Falcon Smash from Triple Crossing, was pretty sweet.

My two-cents after drinking a few of the "New England IPAs" put out recently to the triangle.
Newgrass 'Fiddler's Dream' > New Anthem 'New Jack' > New Anthem 'Steez'

Was pleasantly surprised by Fiddler's Dream as I was not expecting it to fit closest to the NEIPA style overall than New Jack based on what I had been reading. Also have a Southern Pines 'Moore IPA' sitting in the fridge to try over the weekend. The most recent batch of Hawkbill I think is superior to all 3 above though. Hoping the new Gang of Blades batch is back to its former glory as well.

    Cheers, fellas.

They probably wont. I tried Wicked weed before the buyout and they wouldn't... Hard to imagine Burial being able to with demand and distributing to outside the state now.

Probably right. Although I did eventually get kegs of Freak and Pernicious through retailers before the buyout, just about a year too late for the wedding.

^I asked a friend at Burial and they cannot sell kegs directly to consumers per NC laws.

Edit: I've always just gone to stores like Salud and Brawley's to get my kegs.

Yes, last week... glad I only bought one can. Didn't remind me of a NEIPA, clear and on the malty sweet side

I was impressed with the Highland Hawaiian Lounge Juice I had the other day. Deceptive at 8%.

While I didn't care for Newgrass' Fiddler's Nightmare.... I have to give a shout out to their Fiddler's Dream. Definitely gonna pick up some more cans of that today. Both the wife and I were pleasantly surprised. One of the better NE-style IPA's I've had from NC.
