Anyone with any knowledge of the breweries of North Dakota...specifically those west of Fargo/Grand Forks?

I've had Drekker, Fargo, Killstone, Rhombus and Half Brothers...and of course Junkyard in Moorhead.

I also recently had a pint of Honey Blonde from Buffalo Commons in Mandan that the Perham Country Club had on tap. That one reminded me of the beers of the early 90's places like Old Broadway in Fargo were putting out. Nothing offensive..a little of a home brew quality....ok...drinkable but like a trip back in time for me.

The others I'd rate this way.

    1. Junkyard

    2. Drekker
    3. Half Brothers
    4. Rhombus
    5. Killstone

Had decent enough experiences at all with Junkyard elite and Killstone probably the bottom of those but not terrible.

Haven't tried Prairie Brothers or Flatland although at least one of those (can't remember which) is supposed to be pretty good.

Bismarck/Mandan/Minot breweries are for the most part a mystery to me and thinking about a trip to Western ND but not sure if it is worth it.

Any thoughts on ND breweries would be appreciated if anyone has knowledge.

The ND Brewers Guild has their 'Under Brew Skies' Beer Fest coming up on June 16th at Island Park in Fargo and most of these breweries will be there so I suggest you save the date to sample them before you do a road trip.

I would agree with what you have listed so far.
Drekker is building a big new brewery and Kilstone is moving to a new location downtown and expanding.

Of the 3 other breweries in the Fargo area, I would go
    Drumconrath
    Prairie Brothers
    Flatland

They just started doing the buildup for Pixeled Brewing opening this summer with a video arcade/brewery concept.

I've been to Souris River in Minot once, good food and beer
I haven't been to Stonehome way out in Watford City

Now Bismarck has been in a big boom with 4 new breweries opening this year and I haven't had any of their beer yet:
    Bismarck Brewing
    Gideon's Brewning
Dialectic Brewing (just opened this week)
Edwinton (uses a SmartBrew system where they have wort shipped to them)

So for other Bismarck area breweries I would rank them:
    Laughing Sun

    Bird Dog*
    Buffalo Commons*
*It has been a couple years since I had a beer from either one of these

I've been to Laughing Sun in Bismarck and Sorus River in Minot, and was happy with both of them. Sorus River also serves food, and there's a pizza place next to Laughing Sun.
