Good point - I actually went to JP last year...just forgot about the NP connection. I'm not a fan of either of their beers honestly (not a big sour guy, so JP doesn't do it for me), but the food at JP is pretty good.

The thing I like about North Peak is the ability to sit outside since I'm usually there in August. I've actually never sat inside there.

So new IPAs releasing at Ellison today. Would love people'd thoughts on them as they try them.

I stopped in last night and had both (albeit a small sample of Spatial Disturbance). The Nelson DDH was really good. Kind of a mellow tropical fruitiness with a bit of that white wine characteristic. Good color and haze. Very refreshing.

I'd like to try Spatial again, as I preferred the Nelson in a direct comparison, but it might be good on it's own.

Man I love Nelson hops, so I would really like to try that Nelson DDH

That Nelson sounds really good....Plan on brewing a hazy IPA in a couple weeks that is Nelson heavy

Would love to know people's thoughts as well. Want so badly for them to put out something to redeem themselves. I've been burnt on too many cans to blindly buy any this time around. Stopped in and had a You Can Get With That... Juice last time it was on and it was just shy of awful.

Bookoo M-43 around GR again right now. Watch batch#/dates though. Saw a couple places get in batch 8 today which I believe is 6-7 weeks old by now. Batch 10 has an actual date on the bottom of the can (4-11-17). That should be the norm for of the batches going forward, which is great. So happy to finally have a great option on the shelf for a NE style IPA in the state! On another note, been seeing Transients offerings at some shops around town as well (JIL, Flightless, couple of their sours) which is also a great thing!

Had a can of it today and still enjoyed it. Hopefully they don't mess with this recipe.

Wow I'm confused batch 10 in GR dated 4-11? I am 10 minutes away from Old Nation and Batch #8 just dropped last week how can it be almost 2 months old?

Its OK, I'm also not seeing "bookoo" M-43 around GR either. And no way is batch 8 "6-7 weeks old" at this point. #fakenews #alternativefacts

Right on either way 43 is fresh in my mind

I was drinking batch 8 last night. Still fresh. Still great. It was canned on 3/28.

You're not looking in the right places then. There was probably 12-15 cases at Horrock's in Kentwood yesterday, batch 9. Look on ON's FB Page and you'll see they posted last week that batch 10 was canned April 11th and showed the date on the bottom of the can, and I figured batch 8 had to be brewed at least a couple weeks before that, which would make it late March (so I guess 4 weeks ago, 6 was overshooting a bit I suppose? Maybe not because there's no date so we don't know for sure). Had a can of batch 8 a couple days ago, and can agree it definitely still tastes great, never said it didn't.

So, I got batch 8 last week during the statewide distribution when I was in Troy. If batch 10 is out there now, when was batch 9? Really not a big deal, as batch 8 is still drinking really well (perhaps even better now than when I first purchased it last week), but I'm just curious.

Also, I misread the # on the latest batch, it was canned on 4-19, not 4-11.

Well, one place on the opposite side of town is not "bookoo", IMO. Place I bought it at the week before didn't get any, and Sicilianos sold out the 3 cases they got earlier this week in an hour with a 4pk limit. This beer is good but my priorities do not involve chasing beer and 1 hour roundtrips. I'm sure we'll be swimming in it soon enough, I'll be patient.

Horrocks in Kentwood sold out last night. Just got back from there. Not empty handed, but a smaller haul than I was hoping for.

While I am right in the middle of drinking a This Guy (and not even close to the first time) I must say that while this is a "top shelf" beer it does not meet the NEIPA style quite like M43 - just not quite as much mouthfeel and "juiciness". Plus This Guy is a bit more expensive at $0.27 per ounce.

This being said I'll gladly drink either beer with a smile on my face!!!

Does anyone know if M-43 is available anywhere in the AA area? Gonna be there over the next couple of days and would love to pick some up to bring back with me. Also interested in any comparable IPA's that are available in AA. Appreciate any help on where to find it if its' distributed.

Fair enough. I have a differing opinion but that's okay.

Actually hoping to try this guy, M43, some monkish and others against each other today. So that should be interesting. FOR SCIENCE!

I can report back on the Ellison beers mentioned above, while I don't think I'd call either one "juicy" in the sense of a NEIPA, they both have nice citrus notes and bitterness. I enjoyed them both; slightly preferred the Spatial Disturbance.

Old Nation is now putting canned on dates on the bottom of the can instead of a batch number. Picked up some cans at the brewery yesterday canned on 4-19. Tasting amazing and very happy to see a specific date now vs batch #
