ah I see, I have only been around hoof a year or so, I didn't get any of the early drafts. Still good beer but yeah I don't see them as true NE

I will say that for Amarillo the cans where wayyy different than the draft. Completely different beer. If you didn't have that one on draft you missed out; there was something wrong with the cans they produced

another one that has popped up is Nowhere in particular Batch 12. They market it as another NEIPA that misses the mark again but is still a good beer. They still have it around the Dayton area but it was made in pretty limited supply

I was able to try the Amarillo on tap, but that doesn't surprise me. The cans have been a crapshoot. I like that they are cranking out a lot of different styles, but they need to tie up some loose ends first.

Not brewed here, but Boom Sauce and Glorious from Hobo Life Brewing are coming to Ohio in the next few weeks and are pretty good NE IPAs.

I liked boom sauce when I had it in Buffalo in the beginning of the year. Any idea if we can expect a bigger line up in the future from them?

I'd imagine in the future, but pretty happy that we're getting those 3. Hoping Consolation Prize and Steal This Can make it here soon!

Homestead's Clever Hop Pun = big fail. Marketing hook. Tastes exactly like the ""NEIPAs"" from Platform.

    Jackie O's Ryezome = amazing

WoodBurn's Hammer Session = Great. To me this is the way to go when you're looking for NEIPAs in the state. Consistent and constantly available. Contrary to the Forrest Gump's box of chocolates also known as Hoof Hearted Kitchen.

I wouldn't consider anything I've had from LH New England-style IPAs other than the fact they are brewed in the NE area.....really mediocre beer.

First, just wanna say the #icemanpour people really are fucking stupid. Period.

Two, I've definitely heard/seen/observed people degrading other companies IPAs because they were not NE IPAs which is very frustrating. Many of you probably know that Burial had a short, special stint of sending cans to OH recently. They sent a nice variety of styles including a few IPAs. One customer came back after trying one and his only comment was, "Well, it was ALMOST a NE IPA....but not quite. Nice try on their part." WTF?! They weren't trying to make a NE IPA, just a damn good IPA (which I would argue they did)! People in the craft beer circles have truly become crazy.

Why is this such a problem? People are going to drink what they want right? I don’t drink to save an industry, I drink to enjoy myself regardless of style. Most of the time though it is a local IPA or pale ale cause it’s fresh and drinkable. You can’t get mad at people for making their own choices that out favor others. Things change mox, NEIPA is the starting quarterback now. Besides there are plenty of good barlywines out. I’m drinking a pilgrims dole right now, or get a thirsty dog Bernese, get a brick kiln, whatever. Go tribe.

If you're ok with former industry leaders retiring all the beers that helped establish a good portion of craft beer in favor of a revolving door of same-same extract IPAs, having upwards of 5 available on shelves at all time, then the next few years are gonna be your golden age of craft.

Personally I can't consider this level of dissolution of selection a good thing.

Couldn't agree more and man Bernese is great, BBA Bernese is up there with my favorite BW period.

Fuck those breweries, they're old, likely oversized and they care about their bottom lines over tradition, they are feeding their families, what are you going to do? Write them a letter? Find the next brewery and drink their beer, but stop complaining.

Super excited to try Fleeb Juice from Masthead next Saturday. First brewery in CLE to actually do a NE IPA can release. Their wet hop blew me away, so I have high hopes for this.

Cans yes, but Bottlehouse has put out 2-3 rounds of NEIPA bottles over the last few months, the most recent being last week.

I'll definitely have to try this from Masthead though.

True. I never saw Cult Following bottles at the Lakewood location, but had it a number of times on draft and it was great.

Didn't Terrestrial just do one this week? And hasn't Platform done a handful?

platform's are terrible and aren't true NE IPA.

I've given up on platform. saw some barrel aged gose today at the store and it sounded good, but I passed on it. been burned too many times.

bottlehouse oh I wish they were closer. Love almost everything they do....Cult Following was really good. pretty sure you and I are the only 2 people who go there from BA. They are so underrated....need a marketing guy or something.
