Will this be okay to drink? Will I get the true sense of the style, drinking a nearly year old iteration of the style?

Traditional versions hold up extremely well, and should be excellent after one year. As for the beers that pass for Berliner Weisse's these days, no idea....

I have been drinking some Bells Oarsman over the last few weeks that are 6 months old and it would be very hard to tell the difference between fresh Oarsman at this point.

I bought some 15 month old Oarsman (50% off), tasted the same to me.

I've had New Glarus Berliner Weiss at a year old and it was still very good, though not quite as bright of flavors and slightly less carbonated.

Because sour beers have a lower pH they tend to age pretty well. I personally would have no issues buying/drinking a 1 year old Berliner Weisse. In fact, I have a bottle of Dogfish Head Festina Peche that I am cellaring right now.

    Cheers!

I thought it was twice as tart at 1 year.

Westbrook's Gose (not a BW, but goses are fairly similar in style) was pretty terrible at 9 months, as a counterpoint.

Bruery Hottenroth was really good after a year.

Berliner Weiss is the closest style so for the purpose of this thread, it fits.

Have never looked into it, but have always got the sense from drinking the two styles that Gose would be a terrible idea to age and Berliners would be fine. Was surprised to find out BA does not recommend aging them, they taste like session sours to me (I can never taste the wheat in them). As opposed to Goses, which are just salty, tart, wheat beers, lots of emphasis on the wheat, at least compared to Berliners.

I think you're confusing the flavour of coriander with that of wheat.

This seems to be correct, as I've had New Glarus's BW after 1-2 years and still enjoyed, but have struggled with some older Gose. The cordiander acts as an antioxidant and salt flavors change. Bougth a sixpack of Troublesome packaged in January a few weeks ago from my local shop and it's been unpleasant to drink. May have to drainpour them, unfortunately, since I love the beer when fresh.

Just drank a year old NG Berliner last night. Tasted slightly less sour than the new one, but still quite tasty. Not sure if that is age or just a style difference from year to year.
