Any idea on when the casks will come out?

 

Great that they're still doing this. But after 3 years of attending, won't be there. First two years I went cool, last year was a slight nightmare. Prime 16 staff was great - can't compliment them enough, they had a lot to deal with - but the surge of people all trying to get the best most exclusive beers was not fun. Can only imagine what this year will be. Great for NEBCo and Prime, not so much for me.

 

Last year I believe the casks and special kegs started at 7, with a new one going on at the top of each subsequent hour.

 

Think it will be any less crazy before then? Heading down that way on the 3rd and while I'd like to get some fbd, some coriolis with a bit less trouble would be fine by me.

 

Yes the earlier the better probably makes sense, though it may get crazier earlier than usual this year given NEBCO's rise in popularity. If it follows last year's model though I think Coriolis should be available at open on the 3rd. I'm sure the Facebook will be updated with times for special tappings so it would make sense to keep monitoring it.

 

Yeah they usually have a list beforehand what is going to be on each day. The more common beers are typically on for both days while harder to get ones are one day or the other.

 

Yes the beers going on each day have been added to the Facebook event page but the specially tapped beers and times have not yet been added. If they do 3 specialty tappings each day like last year my uneducated guess is Coffee IST cask, Ten-er 17 cask, and Smoke Detector on the 2nd and Redrum, FBD cask, and maybe '11 IST on the 3rd.

 

Do they add exact tapping times per day later in the week on facebook?

It's been officially retired.

 

the '11 ist went bad for anyone going looking for that. sadness. I don't think I'm going anymore cuz it's almost an hour for me. still alot of other solid stuff. they had coffee ist before leftover & added bourbon barrel ist instead of the '11.

 

It was a bit insane but also really fun last night. I was there between 6 and 10. I got to try some beers that had eluded me before. Everyone was pretty cool and the staff seemed to handle everything decently.

 

heading there tonight, last night looked insane. Really hoping that most went for the rare'er beers last night and less crowded.

 

Went there on tuesday, the coffee stout trooper cask kicked ten minutes before I got there :/
