anyway, what the thread doesn't do is answer the original question- will it be brewed again anytime soon.

as far as i'm aware, the answer is no, as they've tapped out on Citra. doesn't mean they don't have some anyway, but originally we were told to expect 1-2 batches of it this year, and they had to toss the first batch because of QC issues, so i imagine that's the Citra allocation for the year.

Coriolis will be coming soon though, which needs to be tried just as much as FBD...

Thiiiiiiiiiiiiis. Love Coriolis. With all the love for their other IPAs, I feel like Coriolis gets overlooked. Can't wait.

since we NEBCO threaders are popping up here, i'll add that the recent batch of gandhi bot is mindblowing. genuinely different from past batches; much more attenuated (dryer + less sweet), much more pronounced cereal malt backbone, very prominent grapefruit, with a little pungent flavor + tropical fruit flavor still highlighting everything. i kept saying "wow" and "i can't believe this..." when i had it (my first and only beer of the day).

also, agree about coriolis. i like FBD better, but coriolis is extremely good. FBD hides its alcohol more at 6% and is very dry and refreshing while still being an outrageously full-flavored citra hop punch to the face. coriolis has a fair amount of heat and some sweetness, but it only augments the earthy, funky + white wine / tropical fruit flavors of nelson sauvin hops. either beer is a "ho ho ho, this beer is on tap? today is my lucky day!" kind of thing. NEBCO know what they're doing with hops.

That 1st batch of bad Citra hops was from another brewery that NEBCo. did a trade/swap with.

So if my memory serves me correct,(its kinda fuzzy...:stuck_out_tongue:)
I thought I was told there is still atleast one more batch of FBD coming.........

I really hope I'm on point w/this,I'll have to inquire.

    Cheers All.......

Nope, Smutty33 is right; NEBCO traded hops with another brewery, and that brewery sent them Citra from 2009. Matt let me taste some of the batch they dumped, and while it was a perfectly good pale ale it was nothing like real FBD.

I haven't heard for sure either way on whether or not there'll be another batch this year.

Per NEBCo's Facebook pg, in a reply under the 06/12 post...

    New England Brewing Co.
Steve - Here's the best thing you can do. Forget about them ducks. It won't be around until next year. Then, when it's all brewed-up and ready, you can be pleasantly surprised. That's what we do actually. Thanks, yo!

Man, so none in 2013 at all? That's a proper bummer. And I agree with whoever said the latest GBot is phenomenal. I picked up a growler on the weekend and it was next-level good.

Well as long as I'm able to snag some Galaxy I'll get over it. Galaxy is one of my favorite beers out there.
