very possible. I have no idea what the code does or means. it could be gov't plot to expose the bot as a spy to the russians but I have my doubts.

There's a liquor store 10 minutes from my job that has had the same case of ghandi sitting there since the fall, prob still a few 4 pks left. I stopped buying them because they started getting too malty for my taste after about 2 months. I'm sorry you guys don't share the same opinion. Try not to take it so personally.

Its not simply our opinion. It would be yours too. If that same case has been there since the fall, who knows how long it had been there before you picked it up.

Its sad that something so un-fresh is what is allowing many people to judge Ghandi (or ANY IPA). Do yourself a favor and try it fresh. Do others a favor, dont judge exceeding old beer that is meant to be drunk fresh. Would you complain to a dairy farm that 3 month old milk tastes sour?

I've had ghandi fresh many times, I used to go to the brewery pretty regularly. It's a great beer, my opinion is that it falls off quickly, as do many other great beers. Not sure why this seems to offend everyone... Maybe my taste buds are broken or maybe it's because I'm from NY.

Well this opinion doesnt offend me. You are entitled to it. But buying Ghandi from a store thats had the same case since fall.... a painful thought for so many reasons.

OP asked why he was underwhelmed by the beer, I gave a suggestion that it may be because it's old. It tends to sit on random shelves sometimes for quite a while. I'm not defending buying old beer or judging beer based on a bad sample. Sensitive bunch in here.

This is what I heard at some point. Isn't there a similar code on HT cans?

Stopped at NEBCo Friday, great place. Waited in line before they opened and got a growler of Bot and Galexy.
Had the Bot today and it was great, I'd put it up there with HT. Loved the way it looked in a glass. Too bad the wife liked it too, I only got 2/3 of the growler....

Galaxy will have to wait until tomorrow.

Not true. The code is from the can manufacturer, and has precisely nothing to do with the date the beer was packaged. NEBCO doesn't date their cans, but they do stamp the cardboard cases. If you're at a store that stacks cases of Sea Hag, always check to find the freshest case - often it isn't on top.

it looked like a code but i was told that the distributor puts it on there. bummer.
I did find out that they hand write a date on the bottom of the cardboard case holder.

I hadn't heard the theory that the distributor does it, and I suppose it's possible, but I'd be willing to bet a significant sum that no NEBCO distributor is bothering to date every single can individually. All they care about is getting paid by delivering it to accounts ASAP.

sorry I meant that it's their code for what ever not a necessarily a date code. if I knew how to post a pic, lol, I would go home and snap a shot of it.
