I'll be there. Can't wait to check out the "new" place and pick up some #2 and #23. Feels like Christmas!
leaving work early today to get there when they open. looking forward to it. got up at 4am so i could take off today haha
I'll probably hit them up tomorrow or Friday night. Don't really expect that drastic of a change. Never understood going there in time for open when it's much more manageable later in the day.
If anyone is in line early, updates would be appreciated! someone commented on FB and said 15 people in line already.
I'm not sure how much you can complain about people being in line early if you yourself are there 45 minutes before they open.
Got there around 1:45 and I was #27 in line. I knew it'd be a madhouse, and I had to make sure I left there early, so I really didn't mind waiting. The line was approaching Fuzzy/Barrel Aged Stout Trooper status a little before 3 PM. Couple things.. 1) New ticketing system, just like Treehouse. They came out before opening and handed out 30 numbered tickets. They also started taking growlers inside about 20 minutes before opening. 2) Imagine the old place, and just imagine the bar extending all the way to the wall on the left where there was the door that led to the inside of the brewery (where they teased you with pallets of cans). On the left, you place your order and in the back you can see all their additional taps, an entire section just for growler fills. Where the old taps were, that is now the tasting area. They'll call your name when your order is ready. 3) They're now putting tags on growlers like HF/Treehouse - My only recommendation to them would be to get a date stamp so they can date the tags. I will say, being #27, the line definitely moved faster than it normally would have in that position. I was out at 3:25. The wait wasn't bad at all, and once your order is in, it's nice to hang out in the open area and have tasters. Kudos to NEBCO as always. Oh, and #2 is outrageous and just as good as it was back in October.
Incredibly easy, just walk up to the bar and ask for what you want. Like I said, the designated tasters are the old taps. Those are now strictly just for samples, so you're not slowing down growler fills. You can also clearly tell they can fill many, many more growlers at a time than before. Give them more time with this system and they'll have it down like a science. I think it's really going to cut down on wait times. Might as well get it down now, because with the higher capacity coming in September, they're gonna have a lot more beer to push out. I wish I could just set up a tent on the side of the building.
Sounds like they are doing it Starbucks style, which is a proven method of keeping people happy while waiting. They have your growler and you have put in the order, now you can walk over and have a beer while you wait. Pretty smart on their part. I guess if you want to taste first then buy a growler after you would have to re-enter the growler line, correct?
I got into the door and they were taking #19's growlers, 8 people away from me. I just went and got some tasters because I knew my ticket was numbered and they were calling the order numbers as they made more room on the counter. The one thing where it would get iffy, is because after the first 30, I don't think the other tickets were numbered. So while I was allowed to float with my ticket that was numbered, after the initial 30, I think they require you to stay in that line. I don't see why it would be a big deal to anyone if you left the line to go and get a sample, and then hopped back in line. But you never know. You want or think everyone will do the "right" thing, but we all know there's always "that guy" in the crowd.
Ya people are hopping out and back into line once they are inside. So you can sample before you put your orders in. If the new system/setup is faster, it isn't noticeably faster. They are still numbering tickets as the cards are handed in, around 6 they were around number 100. This is their first day with the new setup, so hopefully things will improve on busy days. Looks like its a 2-2.5 hour wait no matter what time you got here.

Didn't necessary mean to complain, ultimately just wanted to give folks an idea of the line they should expect, I blame the heat. Always blame the heat. Nebco did a great job considering it was their first day with the new setup. I'm sure they'll really get the hang of it and things will run a bit more efficiently very soon. The new space is definitely much more social and being able to grab samples with almost no wait was fantastic.
