hi guys just wanted to get some insight. I just had both bottles about a month apart and wow what a difference between batches. Batch 3 had the color of orange juice and was well carbed with good Nectarine tartness. Batch 4 had the color of Apple purée with very little to minimal carb and drank just like Nectarine juice. I feel like the perfect beer would have been a cuvée of both batches. Just wanted to confirm that there was a big difference both batches?? I did not have b1 or b2 FYI...

I'll admit that I'm not the most on top of things guy, but, I might not be the only person wondering what brewery made these brews?

Fwiw, the bottle of NP b4 I had not terribly long ago didn’t have the appearance of apple purée, nor was it minimally carbed. That said, “nectarine juice” would be an apt description of the taste. Absolutely fuggin’ delicious. For my money, the best batch thus far. #ymmv

(I’m also of the not-unpopular opinion that Nectarine Premiere is among the best beers de Garde brews. And personally, I don’t mind the variance from batch to batch. It’ll be interesting to see what b5 comes out like via dG’s new facility, which just opened.)

Hmm I wonder if my bottle was off then...it wasn’t bad but definitely felt like something was off? It was just lacking that carb and tartness and literally straight juice...thanks for the reply!

Sorry one more thing...obviously there is variance between batches but man this was like drinking two completely separate beers so just wanted to get feedback. thanks!

Yeah, I think one of the things dG remains hit-or-miss on is carbonation. I recently had a bottle of The Boysenberry, and it was very close to being the tastiest fruited bottle I’ve had from them. Unfortunately, it was also dead flat, which was a let down for sure.

There were definitely some (but apparently not many) flat/undercarbed bottles of b4. Unfortunately, my buddy got about 6 of them. They were good, but not what they should have been. Had a bottle of b4 at the brewery on Saturday, and it was perfectly carbed and delicious.

Damn that’s what i was afraid of! I was wondering if I had just received a flat bottle. I had such high expectations of this beer and traded for both batches try too. Like I said b4 wasn’t bad but it was super flat. Couldn’t even get one bubble out of it. I think it had a better nose then b3 though but definitely a cuvée of both would have been perfect!

I have bottles of Batches 3 and 4 and had the same experience as others. Batch 3 perfectly carbed, Batch 4 still. Batch 4 is still fruity and delicious, but I'm just not a fan of still. At least give me HOTD bubbles. I still have bottles of both - maybe I should try doing a cuvee...
