Here in OK, we have a new local (sort of) AAL, called Mustang 33, available in cans at the local 7-11, @ 3.2ABW. A cut above the average Busch Lite, but at a premium price. Pretty decent, yet pricey.

On some of my river trips, it was "dry" while you were on the water.

i would go with yuengling traditional. delicious straight out of the can, you can buy it by the case, and and cheap enough to pound without any guilt.

None of these mentioned are session beers.

^This. I did the Saco River in Maine last summer and Brooklyn Summer was my jam. Of course there were no rapids to dodge there. Just other people doing keg stands on makeshift rafts.

On vacation, "session" is a relative term

"Session beer" is an ABV defined term, it can't be relative.

Well, the OP said to screw the ABV limit so I think he'd agree with me. But your sage advice is duly noted.

Deschutes River Ale - its fitting delicious and its 4 percent ABV, I know its not in cans, just sneek these baby's in the bottom of the cooler under all that ice. Put a few BMC's on top and your good to go.

i agree most of them arent, but yuengling is 4.4% abv so where is the cutoff?

Even Founders All Day IPA is 4.7% not a true session.
