I have a 64oz swingtop like the pic above, a Brauler, a Drink Tanks, and multiple glass screwtops. Swingtops are definitely superior to the normal screwtops (though the Brauler screwtop is a different design and on par with swingtops). I like the double wall insulation and cap design of the Drink Tank, but it's bulky.

I've got a wide range of growlers, from small 32 oz "grenades" and swing tops, to a 2L German style swing top, to the standard 64 oz screw tops. I'd say the plain jane 64 oz screw tops get the most use, simply because more places fill them. I know of at least a couple breweries that don't fill the German style swing tops due to their height, and several places that don't fill metal (presumably since they can't see the filling process).

i second these. i have the 7500 and it kicks ass. keeps beer cold for 24 hours without refrigeration. no light exposure issues. opening is big enough to make cleaning easy. stainless steel doesn't retain flavors. also, attached lid allows me to secure the growler in the trunk of my car so i don't have to worry about it banging around.

You're putting too much thought into this. Just get one of those growlers you always see that has beer in it.
