So my wife booked a room in Mission Bay.... that area appears to be craft beer desert.

    Any cool spots near there?

The closest brewery would probably be Coronado or Modern Times, depending on where you are on the bay. Ballast Point/Home Brew Mart is close. The High Dive is a pretty fun bar and not too far away. There's some good stuff in PB like Iron Pig Alehouse and SD Tap Room. You're not far from a lot of stuff, really. It just depends on how you're getting there.

Thanks guys, at Brothers Provisions in Escondido right now, then heading to the Mission Bay area.

Draft in Mission Beach usually has a pretty large tap list, and all the stuff mentioned in PB is literally within blocks if you are in the north end of Mission Beach. It's a quick drive to Ocean Beach and all the places there, too.

Craft beer desert it is not, unless you are looking at the names of neighborhoods and not considering the geography.

PB is super close, go there. The Local, Amplified Ales, Tap Room, Iron Pig, Twisted Manzanita.

Wow, thanks for saying Hi, or maybe you did I and didn't notice since I was enjoying my pastrami and black house quite a bit.

Yeah, myself, girl, and buddy were there clutching our pint glasses since we just finished our climbing session and our hands were basically super red and on fire. Then the food arrived....as always..Brothers never fails to deliver great eats.

Have you been? I was very surprised at how solid the beers were. Multiple sours and one-offs.

Then it is time for me to reevaluate my biases. My impressions were heavily biased by a summer stop in Santee a few years back, one where I left with sort of a "meh" impression (i.e. OK beers, but nothing that really struck me as a must repeat).
