Quite simply, it is already over 80 degrees here in SoCal. My first couple batches I was able to make without any method to keep the fermenter cool, as my apartment was at 67F. I know I made a few mistakes with those, they still tasted quite wonderfully, even if the alcohol content was low on one batch, and the other batch turned out closer to a style I wasn't trying. Now that I have a few experiments, and have figured out what I messed up the first two times, just rookie mistakes really, I want to get a batch the way I initially intend.

I was curious what the best method to keep my fermenter at the proper temp in a warm environment. I was just going to buy a tub, and keep it full of cool water, but if there is a more efficient way to do this I would love to know.

I am limited to the space in my apartment so a fridge, or anything much larger than the corner that I have set up know.

    Welcoming all ideas.

    Thanks.

    Yes...that way exactly...maybe "turbocharge" it with a wet T-shirt, ice when needed, and a fan : )

Thanks, That was the plan, with the addition of a bit of ice when it got too warm. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't a way that I had not heard of, or something more efficient.

Freeze water in a few 2-liter, soft drink bottles, and then just rotate them in and out of the water bath and back to your freezer. That way you don't have to mess with loose ice and be constantly getting rid of excess water in the tub due to that ice melting.
