Been a while since I was in the area. Any good bottle shops? How is the selection at Locke's? What about that wine store on Owen Rd? Thanks in advance!

I'm sure someone will have more info but I'd suggest take the the drive up to Oliver T's. Hill road and 475. Not to far off the the hill Rd and 75 exit.

Locke's may be worth a look but the best selection in the area would be to head up to Oliver T's in Grand Blanc. Or you could head east on 59 into Highland and go to Pine Ridge Market or down further into White Lake to Famous Market.

Newer breweries in the area are the Fenton Winery and Brewery in Fenton and River's Edge Brewery in Milford. I have only been to the River's Edge and for a brand new brewery I thought they did a nice job. Never been to the one on Fenton but from the looks of it it is always packed. Good luck

Merchants on Owen Rd has a good selection and sells singles. My broinlaw lives down the road and that is our stop.

Merchants is good, Lockes is okay, Oliver T's is Oliver T's (fantastic).

Some places some people havent mentioned are:
Alex's Market on Grange Hall Rd in Holly, right before 75 - great selection, comparable to Oliver T's
Alpine in Linden (silver lake road) has a really decent selection of 6 packs, their bomber and singles selection leaves a lot to be desired, but they still have some limited releases.

Merchants is good but they have some old stock. Last year they had Pete's Wicked (hasn't been made in 8-10 years) but it wasn't there in a more recent visit.

If you head into Milford to visit River's Edge, Colasanti's market has a decent beer selection. I'm able to find better stuff there than at Famous Market- they never want to sell to me and I don't play that game.

Colosanti's is good, they don't price in demand unlike nearby stores, or have "infamous service" like Famous Market (it says it right on their business card).

Is infamous service the same as we make you beg for your beer? :stuck_out_tongue: I'm too old for the under the counter sales.

I agree about Famous Market. They price gouge way too much. The one brother is always trying to jack up prices on beer. He tried selling a bottle of BB biscotti break for 40 bucks, claiming there were only 3 in the entire county.

Save your time on Alex's. Stopped there last week and the selection has taken a hit. The beers they have are a tad over priced. They were selling atwater blueberry cobbler singles for $6!
