I'm looking to find a beer for my gf outside of my Distro and I'm looking for some suggestions for an upcoming engagement and celebrating a new job. I'm gonna post a FT but I don't know exactly what I should look for, she likes fruit/y beers such as new glarus strawberry rhubarb and raspberry tart as well as some lambics, but doesn't like when they are too sour. I'm looking for suggestions of those type of beers that are not in Midwest, either highly rated and rare-ish or something that you've had in that style that was awesome.
Thanks in advance for your help

Casey fruit stands cherry, even the most tart one had a sweet finish.

-Kasteel Rouge is pretty sweet.... I liked it a lot the first few times I had it, now it reminds me of cherry cough syrup.

-Laughing Dog Huckleberry Cream - Fruity without being too sweet.

-Selin's Grove Phoenix Kriek and Framboise are both fruit beers and have no real resemblance to fruited lambics. These are fantastic.

Different palates, man. I thought it was the most sour CS beer I've ever had.

I'd second on the Casey fruitstands, although they're not easy to get. Same with Atrial Rubicite. New Glarus Wild Peach, or West Ashley? Frambois for a Cure or Frambois de Amorosa? All of these are great, but none are "easy" to get.

Those are some pretty damn sour beers gentlemen.

How about some of the Short's fruit beers like Peaches n Cream (in the Midwest but not in MN)? Or maybe NG Wild Peach, which was super fruity and tart but sweet on the backend. Or Peche 'n Brett would be another great option.

Has she tried a sweeter chocolate beer like Southern Tier's Choklat? Not too pricey and readily available, and seems to be appreciated by folks who normally aren't big beer drinkers. ST's Creme Brûlée might be another good possibility.

Shes not really big into stouts or dark thicker beers, the only one I've gotten her to like is darklord because of the sweet and smoothness, otherwise shes big into fruity beers.

Aside from Founders Rubaeus and the New Glarus stuff there aren't a lot of super fruity beers out there that are reasonable obtainable, not very sour, and actually good all at once. Selin's Grove stuff or Casey fruit stands as mentioned above...but both will take some work to trade for. Casey probably a better choice to go after because bottled instead of growlers and lots of them just recently released.

Blushing Monk of course is amazing and entirely fruit centric but probably even harder than the above stuff to get by now.

Can you give an example of a sour that your gf likes and thinks is not too sour, or of one that she thought was too sour? Because, say, Oude Kriek de Cam is very fruity and less sour than like Cantillon Kriek or 3F Schaerbeekse (it's also fucking amazing)...but it's a real lambic and still pretty sour, especially with age, and also very bretty. 3F Intense Red might be another lambic option. Both of those are reasonably easy to get (the de Cam is a shelf beer in Europe and available to order from numerous websites).

The two 2013 blends of Persica are very fruity and only moderately sour. The various fruited L'Brett beers from CS also only mildly sour (although none as fruity as like an NG fruit beer).

Oh, Shipyard's Smashed Blueberry or whatever it is might be an option. It's dark, a porter base I think, but not roasty or bitter and it's pretty fruity. Not as good as the other beers mentioned here but a lot easier to get. Some of the fruited Allagash sours are also pretty mild on acidity.

I was just going to say something from Short's even though it can be found in Mich. Soft Parade and Strawberry Short's Cake come to mind.
